NFL World Reacts To Nakobe Dean And Quay Walker Joining Las Vegas Raiders

According to Tom Pelissero, Walker, formerly with the Green Bay Packers, agreed to a three-year, $40.5 million contract with $28 million fully guaranteed.

Walker is coming off a breakout season in which he recorded 128 tackles and established himself as a versatile, speedy defender.

At the same time, the Raiders signed Dean, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, to a three-year, $36 million deal with $20 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapaport.

Dean, ranked No. 53 in the PFSN LB Impact Metric with a C- grade, is a recent Super Bowl champion known for his tactical intelligence and aggressiveness in blitzes, making him a valuable addition despite recent injury concerns.

The signings quickly drew reaction across the NFL. Analyst James Palmer praised Dean’s leadership and resilience, noting his return from a major knee injury and strong play last season.

“The Raiders land a really good linebacker that had a market. He’ll be 25 years old this season, was a leader on an Eagles defense full of stars. He returned from a major knee injury and played outstanding this year. The league knew the numbers game with Philly at the position,” Palmer said.

Greg Auman highlighted the defensive upgrades, noting, “Raiders keep Koonce and add Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean. Big upgrades in the middle of that defense.”

Cleveland Browns center Nick Harris emphasized the speed of the signings, remarking, “Wow. Raiders get Quay Walker and Nakobe Dean in the span of five minutes. Also someone the Cowboys had interest in.”

Influencer Chito Gaming added, “First nokobe dean now Quay raiders are not playing around.”

“Locked On Cowboys” host Marcus Mosher noted that the Cowboys were expected to pursue at least one of the linebackers, stating, “Very reasonable. Would have paid that for Dallas.”

The signings align with the Raiders’ anticipated shift to a 3-4 base defense next season, a scheme that requires linebackers with speed and range to cover the field sideline to sideline.
