At the same time, the Raiders signed Dean, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, to a three-year, $36 million deal with $20 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapaport.
Dean, ranked No. 53 in the PFSN LB Impact Metric with a C- grade, is a recent Super Bowl champion known for his tactical intelligence and aggressiveness in blitzes, making him a valuable addition despite recent injury concerns.
The signings quickly drew reaction across the NFL. Analyst James Palmer praised Dean’s leadership and resilience, noting his return from a major knee injury and strong play last season.
“The Raiders land a really good linebacker that had a market. He’ll be 25 years old this season, was a leader on an Eagles defense full of stars. He returned from a major knee injury and played outstanding this year. The league knew the numbers game with Philly at the position,” Palmer said.

The signings align with the Raiders’ anticipated shift to a 3-4 base defense next season, a scheme that requires linebackers with speed and range to cover the field sideline to sideline.
