On Wednesday, TMZ emerged with new details on the scandal involving Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini.
Vrabel and Russini reportedly rented a private boat together back in June 2021 when the former was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans and the latter was pregnant and working as an NFL insider for ESPN.
NFL World Reacts to Latest Details in Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini Scandal
After the New York Post published intimate photos of Vrabel and Russini at an Arizona resort, Russini resigned from The Athletic, where she had worked since 2023. As for Vrabel, he missed Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to enter counseling alongside his family.
Now, the fallout is set to continue after TMZ revealed the boat story.
NFL observers have been reacting to every twist and turn of this controversy, and they couldn’t believe the latest update.
One Boston sports influencer believes this latest bombshell makes things much worse for the Patriots head coach.
“Mike Vrabel is cooked,” he wrote on X.

Another influencer shared the graphic that “Inside the NBA” recently used to mock the Vrabel-Russini scandal during their “Gone Fishing” segment for the Boston Celtics.
He wrote that the “Inside the NBA” crew was “ahead of their time” since they featured Vrabel and Russini on a boat.

Austin Stanley, co-founder of A to Z Sports, also chimed in.
“Titans things that happened on a boat in Nashville June 2021: Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, and Jon Robinson trades for WR Julio Jones,” he said.

Not everyone thinks this is all fun and games, though. Harrison Graham, who currently works for ChatSports, couldn’t believe the new details published by TMZ.
“This story continues to get crazier, and quite frankly more sad,” Graham wrote on X.
With TMZ joining the story, no one is safe from new developments. Previously, ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio argued that Vrabel could be “one development away from something that makes it impossible for him to return” as the Patriots’ head coach.
Now, NFL analyst John Frascella thinks the scandal will get even worse.
“TMZ is all-in… Yeesh,” Frascella noted.

And finally, with Russini out of work, some believe that Vrabel could have the same fate. Betting analyst Joe Osborne predicted on his Twitter that, when the 2026 season starts, the Patriots will have a different coach.
“Yeah, he won’t be the coach in Week 1. This story refuses to quit,” Osborne said.
The Vrabel-Russini scandal continues to dominate headlines, and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, especially since new information seems to surface on a daily basis.
