Ja’Marr Chase has made a name for himself on the football field, where he’s become known as one of the NFL’s best wide receivers today. Now, as he heads into his sixth NFL season with the Cincinnati Bengals, the 26-year-old is ready to try something new on the side.
Yet, not everyone agrees with Chase’s next chapter.
Ja’Marr Chase Set to Team Up With Annie Agar
Previous reports indicated that Chase and fellow star receiver Tee Higgins were going to create a podcast together. Those plans never came to fruition.
However, now “Overtime” has announced that Chase will be creating a podcast after all, and he’s picking popular NFL personality Annie Agar to be his co-host rather than Higgins. Their new podcast will be titled ‘Chasing No 1.’
Back in February, Chase and Bengals teammate Tee Higgins shared they’d be starting a new podcast with the same name, with the show expected to debut in the spring. That never materialized.
Now, ‘Chasing No. 1’ is officially launching with Chase and Agar as co-hosts, with the first episode dropping Wednesday, September 2.

Yet, one commenter finds the Chase/Agar pairing to be the “weirdest, most random duo ever seen.”
“This is the weirdest, most random duo I think I’ve ever seen. Lmao what y’all think about this,” the person wrote.
Another called it an “unlikely combo” but wished them the “best of luck” anyway.

Chase has earned Pro Bowl honors all five seasons of his NFL career, so it is indeed an unlikely duo. Last season, Chase’s 86.5 PFN Impact Score placed him as the fifth-best player at his position.
Despite the big-name pairing, another commenter made it clear that they couldn’t care less about Chase and Agar teaming up for a podcast.
“Who on the face of this entire earth literally gives one single [expletive]???”
However, one fan took the Chase/Agar news as an apparent sign of bad luck, saying, “I thought we had a chance this year. Season over.”

Another Bengals fan realized that past reports of Agar being in Cincinnati now make sense, as she’s been making plans with Chase.

“Ah, so Annie Agar was in Cincinnati to work on a new show she’s working on with Ja’Marr Chase. Chase previously talked about launching this show (Chasing No. 1) with Tee Higgins on Radio Row with Pat McAfee, and this is where it landed.”
While there seems to be a lot of mixed reactions to the Chase podcast news, one commenter admitted that they “Can’t wait for this 👌🏻”

Another agreed and even offered congratulations to the duo.

The thing is, for Agar, it is “huge.” She’s long been working her behind off as an NFL content creator. Now she gets to be a bit closer to the action, working alongside one of the game’s biggest superstars.
