The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to make a run at the Super Bowl once again. Jalen Hurts and his teammates fell short of the ultimate goal last season, but they’re ready to hit the ground running in 2026.
Of course, it wasn’t long ago that Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl. They capped off the 2024 season by dominating the Kansas City Chiefs to hoist the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. Hurts delivered an incredible performance in that game, leaving no doubt about his credentials.
However, there still seems to be a section of football fans who don’t believe in Hurts. Some seem to have a lower opinion of him despite his ability to lead a championship team.
NFL Analyst Has Had Enough of Disrespect Shown Toward Eagles’ Jalen Hurts
Jason McIntyre appeared on an episode of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” this week. During this appearance, the topic of Hurts came up, and McIntyre used the opportunity to take aim at quarterback tier lists that, in his view, had Hurts ranked way too low.
“Our teammates at FOX did a list of quarterback tiers. I’m not going to bash the list; they are our teammates at FOX. But I don’t understand the continued disrespect for Jalen Hurts,” McIntyre said.

On this tier list, Hurts was placed in the fourth tier, titled “Supporting Cast-Dependent.” Among the names in that tier were Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, and Bo Nix. McIntyre was not pleased with this placement in the slightest.
“Jalen Hurts has played 10 playoff games. He has 10 rushing touchdowns in the playoffs. That’s the most in NFL history. He’s 28 years old. Again, Jalen Hurts, his playoff numbers speak for themselves,” McIntyre continued.

A lot of the doubt around Hurts seems to stem from his 2025 performance. The Eagles offense took a step back last season under offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Philadelphia made the playoffs, but was bounced in the Wild Card round.
Hurts now has a new offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion. This could certainly spark Philadelphia’s offense. At the same time, some healthy skepticism is warranted, as it’s unclear how positive or negative the changes to the offense are at this time.
Philadelphia has its eyes set on one goal in 2026. It believes it has the roster to contend for a Super Bowl. And they are putting all of their faith in Hurts to lead them back to the Lombardi Trophy.
