With the NFL’s trade deadline day well underway, teams far and wide continue to inquire about certain players.
For the Tennessee Titans, it appears they may be en route to another top-five draft pick as they struggle mightily in 2025. Last year’s first overall pick, Cam Ward, has yet to tap into his full potential, partially due to his lack of weapons.
Ward’s preseason WR1, Calvin Ridley, is second on the team in receiving yards and has zero end zone appearances playing just six games thus far. With minimal impact early in Ward’s career, could Ridley be on the move?
Titans Continue To Sell Ahead of Tuesday Afternoon Deadline
After shipping Dre’Mont Jones to Baltimore, the Titans are evaluating further players and considering whether they are willing to part ways with them. Atop the list, Ridley poses as one of the most intriguing receivers potentially on the market.
CBS’s Jonathan Jones claims that Ridley and two other Titans continue to get attention. However, the insider does not see any of the three being dealt.
“That may be it for Tennessee, which won’t send away every pass rusher they have,” said Jones following the Baltimore deal. “The Titans got calls for Arden Key and T’Vondre Sweat as well. I don’t see Tennessee dealing Calvin Ridley, either. They don’t want to make things tougher for top overall pick Cam Ward.”
Ridley hopes to turn things around and fast, whether that be with Tennessee or elsewhere.
Which Teams Could Lobby for Ridley As Subpar Play Plagues the Titans?
The former first-round pick has just two games with over 50 receiving yards this season. With relatively abysmal performances outside a 131-yard eruption against Arizona, the Alabama product continues to receive trade attention.
Using PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, we see the Titans land 31st, ahead of only the Cleveland Browns. Tennessee’s 55.5 impact score and F grade raise concerns for their young gunslinger as he continues to search for answers.
While Ridley has been in and out of the lineup, the offense has been subpar with or without their top guy.
Former Las Vegas Raider Jakobi Meyers is now off the trade board, making Ridley’s name more intriguing by the minute. One team that was interested in Meyers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, could be a squad that makes a push for the 30-year-old Ridley.
Realistic WR targets PIT could still *possibly* land before the deadline today after missing out on Jakobi Meyers: ⬇️🎯
– Calvin Ridley
– Deebo Samuel
– Jauan Jennings
– Christian Kirk
– Michael Wilson
– Rashid Shaheed

Steelers media personality Jack Sperry lists Ridley and five other receivers as potential suitors for the black and gold.
Aside from the Steelers, other teams in the receiver market could include: New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, and more.
With an AFC-heavy need for wideouts, the question may be if teams are willing to deal within the conference.
