When Sunday arrives, it will be two weeks since the New Orleans Saints played a game due to their bye week. With extra time, the hope is that players with prior injuries could heal up and get ready for their Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Who Is on the Saints’ First Injury Report of the Week?
Over the past few weeks, the Saints have been dealing with a significant number of injuries, and although the situation seems to have improved, it is still a lengthy list. Starting with the obvious, Brandin Cooks is on the injury report for personal reasons, as the Saints released him.
Moving on to the players still on the roster, starting RT Taliese Fuaga did not practice due to his existing ankle injury, and RB Alvin Kamara was listed as a limited participant because of an ankle injury that has lingered for a while. WR Chris Olave, TE Jack Stoll, and OT Barry Wesley were all listed as full participants in today’s practice.

What Fuaga’s Injury Means for Sunday’s Game
A main concern from the injury report, once again, is Fuaga. It wasn’t good with Fuaga out against the Carolina Panthers, even during a solid win. What makes it more concerning is that the Panthers’ pass rush is not a strong unit, so getting exposed like that is something to watch if Fuaga remains out.
The Atlanta Falcons have an upgraded defensive line, one of their roster strengths. They have a 3-7 record, but that pass rush can take over games, and if the Saints are missing Fuaga, it could be a major issue for rookie QB Tyler Shough.
Against the Panthers, Shough stepped up or avoided pressure multiple times when he should have been sacked. This is a testament to what Shough has been able to do in such a short time, but the issue is that if it happens too much, Shough won’t be able to escape every time.
New Orleans has an opportunity to get a win on Sunday, but that chance could be heavily affected if Fuaga is ruled out.
