NFL Week 11 Patriots vs. Jets Prediction: Drake Maye Going for 8th-Straight Win

Drake Maye leads the New England Patriots into a Thursday night showdown with the Jets. Full game preview and score prediction.

The New England Patriots are preparing for their first Thursday night matchup of the season against their divisional foe, the New York Jets. The Patriots have already matched their win total from their last two seasons. They’re approaching their first division title since 2019, and the vibes are high in Foxboro.

Patriots Win if Drake Maye and the Passing Game Stay Efficient

Drake Maye is on fire and is looking for another strong performance against a team that just traded away DB Sauce Gardner and DE Quinnen Williams. Maye is at the top of the league when it comes to completion percentage (71.%) and touchdowns (19), and ranks third overall in PFSN’s Quarterback Impact metrics.

One of the biggest storylines tonight is whether the Patriots can run the football as well as they did against the Buccaneers. The Patriots will be without Rhamondre Stevenson for the third straight game, so it’ll be up to TreVeyon Henderson to carry the load. In Tampa, Henderson had two house calls, one for 55 yards and one for 69 yards.

The Jets have won two of the past two games in this rivalry, but before that, the Patriots dominated the series, winning 15 straight games.

Maye has been incredible through 10 starts and continues to look like one of the best young signal callers in the NFL. His accuracy has been on point through the winning streak, and he has been comfortable moving around in the pocket. The former UNC product owns a passer rating of 113.9 and has added 283 yards with two rushing touchdowns.

In last week’s win over the Buccaneers, he had another strong outing, even when he was facing a talented Tampa defense. The pressure was constantly in his face, and he made explosive plays all afternoon, keeping the offense moving.

With WR Kayshon Boutte inactive due to injury, his top target remains Stefon Diggs, who has 50 for 554 and three touchdowns. Diggs has seven plays of at least twenty yards, along with 187 yards after the catch. When these two connect early, the Patriots’ offense becomes very difficult to stop. Diggs has been a security blanket on third down, and that should remain on Thursday night.

New England wins this game if Maye stays efficient, avoids unnecessary risks, and continues to distribute the ball at a high level.

Jets Win if Breece Hall Takes Over and Mason Taylor Contributes in Key Moments

The Jets have a clear path to a win, and it runs through RB Breece Hall. He has rushed for more than 200 yards combined over the last two weeks, including an 18-carry, 133-yard performance against the Bengals.

If Hall gets going early and can create consistent chunk plays, the Jets can shorten the game and force the Patriots into a slower, more methodical style of play.

Rookie tight end Mason Taylor is another important piece. The Jets win this game if Hall dominates on the ground and Taylor provides key third-down catches that keep New York ahead of the sticks. If that happens, it will take pressure off the Jets quarterback and keep the Patriots’ offense on the sideline. The Jets need to keep the Patriots’ offense off the field, and if they do, they might have a chance.

Prediction: Patriots 20, Jets 9
