We know the NFL will release its 2025 schedule this Wednesday evening. And we know each team’s home and road opponents list. In just a few short days, we’ll be able to fire off win-loss predictions, most of which will age poorly. But why wait until then?
As the official release nears, various leaks and rumors will help us piece together each team’s scheduling puzzle. If you don’t mind spoilers, follow this tracker to stay updated on the latest leaks as they become available.
Here are the rumors we are tracking leading up to the official schedule release. Remember, these are all rumors. We will make sure to confirm the schedule information as the NFL officially confirms games.Â
New York Giants Face Tough Start
According to NorthJersey.com’s Art Stapleton, the Giants will open the season with two road games — first against the Washington Commanders, followed by a Week 2 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Giants’ home opener will come in Week 3, when they host a primetime game against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. In Week 4, the Giants will face Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers at home.
Chiefs Meet Cowboys on Thanksgiving
CBS announced this morning that the Chiefs will visit the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.
The Cowboys have a 34-22-1 all-time record in their annual Thanksgiving Day games. Kansas City is 5-5 in games played on the holiday.
Thanksgiving Night
According to 95.3 WDAE’s Pat Donovan, the Rams will host the Buccaneers on Thanksgiving night. The Lions and Cowboys will also host games on the holiday.
In other NFC West news, 93.3 KJR FM’s Dave Mahler reported that the Seahawks will host the 49ers in Week 1.
Week 10 Primetime
The Eagles and Packers met in Week 1 last season and again in the playoffs, both of which went the way of Philadelphia. Green Bay will have an opportunity to avenge that on Monday night (November 10) against the reigning champions.
In those two meetings a season ago, Jordan Love completed just 37-of-67 passes with more interceptions (four) than touchdowns (two).
Christmas Night Set
Amazon Prime will broadcast the Denver Broncos at the Kansas City Chiefs on December 25. This will be the second consecutive Christmas the Chiefs take the field, following last year’s road win in Pittsburgh.
The teams split their matchups last season, with the Chiefs winning in Week 10 on a last-second blocked field goal, and the Broncos cruising to a 38–0 victory in Week 18 against a Kansas City squad that rested most of its starters.
Black Friday Matchup Offical
In Week 13 this season, Chicago will travel to Philadlephia for a Friday game that is trending toward an annual tradition. Over the past five seasons, the Eagles are 15-9 in primetime (62.5% win percentage, sixth best) while the Bears have dropped 13 of 18 (27.8% win percentage, tied for the third worst).
Week 16 Saturday Doubleheader
FOX has a doubleheader scheduled for December 20. The Eagles will travel to Washington to face the Commanders in a rematch of the NFC Championship. In the other game, the Bears will host the Packers.
Of note, Chicago has been the worst team in divisional home games over the past four season 2-10 record) while the Philadelphia/Washington showdown has featured nothing but one-possession games over the past two seasons.
Additionally, three College Football Playoff games will also be played that day.
Week 1 Showcase
We know the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys do battle twice a year, but if you need more excitement into that rivarly, how does the first week with the Birds trying to defend their fifth championship sound?
These divisional rivals will kick off their seasons on the same field with Dallas looking to make things a little more competitive than they were a season ago (cumulative score in the two meetings: 75-13). This game will kickoff the regular season, taking place on September 4 (Thursday)
Madrid Game Rumored
News broke on Thursday night that the Miami Dolphins will serve as the home team in Madrid, Spain, against the Washington Commanders on November 16th (Week 11).
These two teams have only played once over the past five seasons, a 45-15 win by the Dolphins in Washington in 2023 (Week 13).
London Trio Coming In October
London will host a game in three consecutive weeks this season, the first two being played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the final at Wembley Stadium.
- Week 5: Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns
- Week 6: Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets
- Week 7: Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
That first game offers some intrigue by way of Kevin Stefanski, the current Cleveland head coach who spent the first 14 years of his NFL coaching career (in a variety of roles) with Minnesota. The second features a matchup that will happen for a sixth straight season (Denver is 3-2 in the previous five with a +19 point differential) while London gets access to one of the weirder trends you’ll come across — the Week 7 Rams (since 2017, they are 6-1 in Week 7’s, outscoring their opposition 198-88 in those contests).
Dublin Date and Matchup
The Vikings and Steelers will play in Dublin on September 28. These two franchises haven’t squared off since Week 14 of 2021, a game that came down to the final play despite the Vikings holding a 29-0 lead in the final few minutes of the third quarter (Chase Claypooll and K.J. Osborn were the leading receivers for their respective teams in that contest).
Berlin’s Interesting Game
Germany will host the Falcons and Colts on November 9, the eighth meeting this milenium between these two. Indianapolis has won five of the previous seven, but they lost the last matchup (Week 16, 2023) and enter this season with more question marks.
Week 1 Brazil Game?
Last season saw the Packers and Eagles play Week 1 in Sao Paolo, Brazil and this year, we get the pleasure of a divisional rivalry filling that spot with the Chiefs and Chargers doing battle.

Los Angeles will lose a home game as a result of this contest, but this team has the potential to knock off Kansas City off of their AFC West perch and a Week 1 victory would be a massive step toward that aggressive prediction.
