Von Miller has officially agreed to a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys. However, Miller may not be the only experienced addition Dallas makes during the preseason.
The Cowboys are continuing to reshape their secondary and appear prepared to explore another veteran option, with former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Adoree’ Jackson emerging as a potential target.
Cowboys Exploring Move For Former Eagles CB Adoree’ Jackson as Secondary Shake-Up Continues
The Cowboys are coming off a 7–9–1 season. With the 2026 season approaching, owner Jerry Jones appears committed to balancing the Cowboys’ long-term development with an immediate push to compete as Dallas looks to maximize the remaining years of Dak Prescott’s championship window.
All summer long, the Cowboys have shown a willingness to bring in experienced veterans who can contribute immediately. Jackson could be the latest example of that approach.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Dallas has been surveying the free-agent cornerback market and has identified Jackson as one veteran worth monitoring.

“In addition to Von Miller, the Cowboys have explored cornerback help via free agency,” Fowler wrote. “One name to watch is Adoree Jackson, who was with DC Christian Parker in Philadelphia. Jackson has interest from a few teams, though.”

Jackson is already familiar with Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker. Parker worked with Jackson in Philadelphia, where he served as the Eagles’ defensive backs coach. That previous relationship could make the veteran cornerback a particularly appealing option for Dallas.

Dallas has already made substantial investments in its secondary this offseason. The Cowboys added Caleb Downs and Devin Moore through the draft while also bringing in cornerback Cobie Durant. Those additions will join established defensive backs such as DaRon Bland, Malik Hooker, and Shavon Revel.
Even with those moves, Dallas is likely to need additional depth as the season progresses.
Injuries, performance concerns, and the physical demands of a full NFL season can quickly test a secondary’s depth chart. That is where Jackson could potentially enter the picture.
Adding Jackson after Miller would give Parker another seasoned player who already understands his defensive expectations. His familiarity with Parker could also help reduce the adjustment period that often comes with bringing a free agent into a new system.
Jackson appeared in 14 games last season while earning 10 starts with the Eagles. He finished the season with 55 tackles, 11 passes defended, and one interception. According to PFN’s Cornerback Impact Ranking, Jackson received a 75.8 grade and ranked No. 56 among regular cornerbacks in 2025.
If Dallas ultimately signs him, the Cowboys would become Jackson’s fourth NFL team. However, the move is far from guaranteed, particularly because Jackson has interest from multiple teams.
