Brian Thomas Jr. could be on the move during the offseason. According to reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars are listening to offers for the wide receiver, who had a difficult 2025 season. The Jaguars improved their receiving corps, and Thomas could be traded for draft capital.
Brian Thomas Could Be a Surprising Trade Candidate for the Jacksonville Jaguars
The second-year receiver had a difficult season. He had many drops, and his numbers took a hit from his rookie year. Thomas had just 48 receptions for 707 yards and 2 touchdowns, with Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington taking bigger roles in the passing game.
NFL reporter Connor Hughes, who covers both teams from New York, reported on Monday that the Jaguars are now “entertaining offers” for Thomas, changing their own stance from the past season, when multiple teams approached Jacksonville looking for a deal and were rebuffed:
SOURCES: The #Jaguars are entertaining offers for WR Brian Thomas, @snytv has learned.
Both the #Jets & #Giants explored Thomas at the traded deadline last year, but Jacksonville wasn’t willing to do any deal.
That stance has changed.

Thomas was a first-round pick who excelled in his first year. Despite a poor 4-13 record, his first season ended with 87 receptions, 1,282 yards, and 10 touchdowns, with a Pro Bowl selection as the cherry on the cake. However, many factors contributed to his disappointing performances in 2025.
A draft-day trade for Travis Hunter, along with the midseason addition of Meyers and a breakout season from Washington, resulted in Thomas losing targets. His struggles with drops (8) were also a big question throughout the season. He was No. 71 in our PFSN WR Impact Metric, a major fall from his No. 4 ranking in 2024.
If he’s traded, the Jaguars are likely to recoup a high pick for his services. Despite his struggles, Thomas totaled 1,989 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first two years in the NFL. He’ll also enter only his third season and will be on a cost-controlled rookie contract.
The Jaguars signed Meyers to a contract extension after he was acquired via a midseason trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. The passing game improved under Liam Coen’s leadership, with Trevor Lawrence finishing the year as a dark-horse MVP candidate.
A change of scenario could be ideal for Thomas, who’s undoubtedly talented and has the potential to return to stardom. Despite previous interest from the Giants and the Jets, many teams are expected to inquire about a possible deal for the wide receiver.
