The Baltimore Ravens adding Stefon Diggs as a free agent would makes sense both on and off the field.

Stefon Diggs is out in New England. After a Super Bowl trip, the Patriots have released Diggs. However, in a resurgent 2025 season, Diggs demonstrated he still has plenty to offer.

Does Stefon Diggs to the Ravens Make Sense?

NFL legends Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson have not only made names for themselves on the field but off the field as well.

In their latest podcast, they predicted Diggs will go to the Baltimore Ravens in free agency. As Johnson said, “I would not be surprised if he ends up in Baltimore.”

The first reason is tied in to geography. As Sharpe stated, “he is from Maryland,” and Diggs also went to college in the state. Diggs is 32, and wherever he signs is most likely going to be his last stop. So, going with his hometown team makes a lot of sense.

On the field, Diggs would be catching passes from Lamar Jackson. Jackson has made a name for himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL due to his processing skills and ability to extend plays with elite mobility.

Throughout Diggs’s career, whether working with Kirk Cousins, Josh Allen, or Drake Maye, Diggs has shown a knack for finding soft spots in coverage when the QB is on the run. So, Diggs and Jackson could certainly make some magic on the field together.

Diggs would also make a great pairing with Pro Bowl wideout Zay Flowers. Flowers is coming off a solid 2025 season, grading out with a B on PFSN’s WR Impact Metric. Both Flowers and Diggs are fluid route runners who could complement each other well and serve as an effective top duo for Jackson.

In addition to Flowers and Diggs, the Ravens also currently have Mark Andrews and Rashad Bateman on the roster. So, while there are plenty of mouths to feed, the Ravens brought in Declan Doyle to be their offensive coordinator.

Doyle was most recently the offensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears. In Chicago, the Bears also had plenty of viable targets for quarterback Caleb Williams, and Doyle generally did an effective job of ensuring Williams distributed the ball consistently.

Could Stefon Diggs to the Ravens Happen?

The Ravens have an established history of signing veteran receivers, such as DeAndre Hopkins in 2025, Odell Beckham Jr. in 2024, or Michael Crabtree in 2018. So, the Ravens have shown that they are willing to take a chance on receivers who are older but accomplished.

Diggs could also be a respected veteran voice in the locker room. As Sharpe said, “he didn’t have any bad mannerisms when he was on the field, he wasn’t pouting on the sidelines, he wasn’t loafing on the field.”

With the Ravens bringing in a new coaching staff, Diggs could be a very effective addition when also considering he brings some very recent championship experience after helping the Patriots achieve a dramatic season-over-season turnaround in 2025 and win the AFC crown in the process.

Overall, not only is Diggs to the Ravens likely, it could be a very prudent move for Baltimore that would boost the offense and help the franchise secure the first Lombardi Trophy of the Lamar era.
