The NFL has finally released the full 2025 international schedule, and it features some exciting firsts. Seven games will be played outside the United States for the first time, surpassing the previous high of five.
One team will also make history by playing two international games in the same season. The Minnesota Vikings will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland, in Week 4, then head to London in Week 5 to take on the Cleveland Browns.
Fans aren’t just focused on the milestones—they’re eyeing the matchups. One of the most anticipated games features two explosive offenses: the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins, who will meet in Week 11 for the first-ever NFL regular-season game in Madrid, Spain.

Madrid Will Host the Clash of Two Offensive Titans
Miami missed the playoffs at the end of 2024, largely due to injuries to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The former Alabama star has flashed brilliance when healthy but has struggled with concussions throughout his career.
Washington, meanwhile, has spent decades trying to recapture the magic of its Super Bowl wins in the early 1990s. After multiple changes at quarterback, coach, and even ownership, the team finally found something that clicked in 2024.
The Commanders selected quarterback Jayden Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. While the pick wasn’t a surprise, Daniels’ rookie-year success certainly was. PFSN ranked Daniels ninth among all NFL quarterbacks with a grade of B.

Daniels helped lead Washington to the NFC Championship Game, where they fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles. During the season, he impressed with his accuracy and gave defenses trouble with his dual-threat ability.
PFSN also ranked Washington’s offense sixth overall with a B grade for 2024. With playmakers like Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel Sr., Zach Ertz, and Brian Robinson Jr., the Commanders are a team on the rise.
If Washington is the new contender, Miami and Tagovailoa are the veterans looking to finally get over the hump. Tagovailoa played in just 11 games last season, but still earned a B grade from PFSN, ranking eighth—just ahead of Daniels.
The Dolphins’ offense, ranked 15th, was noticeably better when Tagovailoa was in the lineup. While he didn’t dominate, he was consistently sharp and ranked as the league’s best quarterback under pressure.
Though he’s often labeled a dual-threat QB, Tagovailoa’s strength lies in his arm. He can extend plays, get the ball out quickly, and deliver accurate throws under duress. And with weapons like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Jonnu Smith, and De’Von Achane, Miami is dangerous when healthy.

This Week 11 matchup in Madrid will give Daniels a chance to prove he belongs in the same conversation as Tua, while Tagovailoa will aim to show he can still lead the Dolphins to a deep postseason run.
It’s a high-powered shootout in the making—and a fitting way to launch the NFL in Spain. Vamos!
