With the Baltimore Ravens moving on from John Harbaugh as their head coach, one coordinator's name might be in the mix for the job.

As Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti moves forward with looking for a replacement for John Harbaugh as head coach, some names that are on the coaching carousel right now are going to get attention.

According to Dianna Russini, Senior NFL Insider for The Athletic, there’s one former head coach who recently served as a coordinator, who might be on Bisciotti’s radar at this moment.

Former Offensive Coordinator’s Name Floated As the Ravens’ New HC

One person currently looking for a new job is Kliff Kingsbury, who will not return to the Washington Commanders as their offensive coordinator next season. Russini posted on X on Tuesday afternoon that Kingsbury’s name could be a target for the Ravens.

“Amid recent leaguewide buzz about Kliff Kingsbury’s future, many believe Baltimore, paired with Lamar Jackson, would be an ideal landing spot for the now former Commanders offensive coordinator,” Russini wrote. “That will be a name to watch.”

Harbaugh’s 18-year career with the Ravens ended on a losing note, seeing Baltimore lose a 26-24 heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Ravens kicker Tyler Loop missed a game-winning field goal with no time left on the clock, sealing the Ravens’ fate and, eventually, Harbaugh’s as well.

Kingsbury does have previous NFL head coaching experience, as he led the Arizona Cardinals. Between 2019 and 22, Kingsbury had a 28-37-1 record. He led the Cardinals to one NFL playoff game in 2021, which they lost.

According to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics for Kingsbury’s time in leading the Commanders’ offense this season, Washington finished with an impact score of 78.1 and graded out to a C+.

Kingsbury was also a head coach in the collegiate ranks with the Texas Tech Red Raiders for six seasons prior to joining Arizona.

For Harbaugh, who released a statement on Tuesday afternoon through the Ravens’ official account on X, he will now either look for a new NFL job immediately. Of course, Harbaugh might also want to lie low for a season and consider his options.

There are currently some head coaching positions available, ranging from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Giants. It’s not clear what Harbaugh wants to do at this time, but he’s going to be a hot commodity in the coaching circles.

In 18 seasons with the Ravens, Harbaugh had a 180-113 overall record, 13-11 in NFL playoff action, and led Baltimore to a Super Bowl championship in the 2012 NFL season.
