Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo isn’t just a fan-favorite for his hard-nosed style and versatility — he’s also starting to gain serious traction with NFL teams ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. The bruising, do-it-all back has emerged as one of the more intriguing prospects in a stellar running back class.
With the pre-draft top-30 visit period for NFL teams ending on April 16, Skattebo has been making the rounds — and some notable franchises are lining up to get a closer look. One top NFL insider has revealed the three teams that have already brought the former Sun Devil in for a visit, with more possibly on the way as draft day approaches.

NFL Draft: Cardinals, Browns, Giants Host Cam Skattebo on Top-30 Visit
NFL insider Ian Rapoport tweeted: “Arizona St RB Cam Skattebo, who has two final Top 30 visits this week, has already visited the #AZCardinals, #Browns, and #Giants. A big-time name in a stellar group of backs.”

Thanks to an elite performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, Skattebo is turning heads and upping his draft stock. Adding a tough, downhill runner like Skattebo could give the Cards a valuable insurance policy and a developmental piece with potential to grow into a larger role. The incoming rookie is currently No. 6 on PFSN’s top-10 NFL Draft running back rankings.
Which Team Makes Most Sense to Take Skattebo in NFL Draft?
In Cleveland, the running back situation remains in flux. Nick Chubb, the longtime face of the Browns’ backfield, is still a free agent following a devastating knee injury in 2023. The team has Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. under contract, but neither has proven to be a long-term answer. Skattebo’s power, receiving ability, and special teams value could make him an ideal Day 3 target for the Browns, especially if they want to re-establish a physical identity on offense.
As for the Giants, the interest makes perfect sense. While New York has found a new lead option in Tyrone Tracy Jr., they’re still searching for their next Saquon Barkley. Skattebo’s skill set as a short-yardage bruiser with sneaky agility could pair nicely with Tracy’s explosiveness. And with multiple later-round picks in their pocket, the Giants have flexibility to target a complementary back like Skattebo without overextending draft capital.
The Arizona Cardinals’ interest in Skattebo is worth watching — even if they don’t need a lead back. Veterans James Conner, Eno Benjamin, and DeeJay Dallas give Arizona an experienced trio with complementary skill sets. But Conner’s physical playing style has led to injury concerns over the years, and Benjamin hasn’t played since he ruptured his Achilles tendon during training camp with the New Orleans Saints in August 2023.
Skattebo’s combination of toughness, football IQ, and effort has made him a fan favorite throughout the pre-draft process. With visits lined up and attention from serious suitors, his path to the NFL is coming into focus.
