The Las Vegas Raiders’ tight end Brock Bowers is an important part of the Raiders’ offensive plans. He has 19 catches for 225 yards and no touchdowns this season. The former first-round draft pick for the Raiders in the 2024 NFL Draft is doing his best to provide downfield options for Raiders quarterback Geno Smith.
But Bowers has been battling a knee injury. His availability for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts is in doubt.
What’s The Latest on the Raiders’ Brock Bowers?
As much as the Raiders wanted Bowers out on the field on Sunday, it isn’t looking very likely at this point.
On Saturday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport posted on X that it looks like Bowers will not play.
“#Raiders star TE Brock Bowers is trending toward not playing Sunday against the #Colts, per me and @TomPelissero,” Rapoport wrote. “Bowers has been battling a knee injury. While coach Pete Carroll expressed confidence in Bowers being out on the field, his knee didn’t respond,” he wrote.

So far in the 2025 NFL season, Bowers has been targeted 27 times, and his longest catch is a 38-yarder against the New England Patriots. The former Georgia Bulldogs athlete played 17 games in his rookie season in 2024. He had 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdown catches. According to SBJ, Raiders quarterbacks targeted Bowers 153 times, out of which he caught 112 for 1,194 yards and scored five touchdowns.
Michael Meyer, who is listed on the Raiders depth chart in the No. 2 tight end position, also is questionable to play against the Colts. That means the Raiders will have to look toward Ian Thomas and Carter Runyon as possible options.

Entering Sunday’s game, Las Vegas is 1-3 in the AFC West Division. The Raiders will play the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on the road, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. Eastern. According to PFSN’s Offense Impact (OFFi), while Indianapolis is graded B+ with an Offense Impact Score of 89.5, Las Vegas is graded D with a score of 65.7.
Carroll would have loved to have Bowers in his usual spot for the Raiders offense. At this point, though, Bowers just appears not able to go with his knee injury.
It’s not clear if Bowers will miss more time after this Week 5 matchup. Raiders medical personnel will be watching Bowers closely to see if his knee injury gets better between Week 5 and Week 6.
Without Bowers, the Raiders’ offense will have to adjust its passing game. Look to see how Smith can find other pass catchers against the Colts’ defense on Sunday.
