NFL games today | Start time, TV channel, live stream options, and more

With four NFL games today, there will be plenty of preseason action and storylines to follow.

Buffalo Bills vs. Carolina Panthers

Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
TV channel: Local
Live streams: fuboTV, NFL+

Note: As of 7:13 p.m. ET, the Bills vs. Panthers is in a weather delay due to thunder and lightning. The new kickoff time is 7:36 p.m. ET.

The first of three NFL games today is a matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers. The Bills are coming off of one of the most impressive preseason wins so far after they destroyed the Denver Broncos 42-15. Josh Allen saw limited action but still managed to throw a touchdown. His backup, Case Keenum, had 192 passing yards and another TD.

Meanwhile, the Panthers are fresh off of a 20-10 loss to the New England Patriots, where PJ Walker struggled, throwing two interceptions. Last year’s breakout RB Chuba Hubbard managed 22 yards on six carries. Ultimately, it was a disappointing performance by all involved. The Panthers have recently named Baker Mayfield their starting QB for the season, so it will be interesting to see whether or not he will get some playing time in this one.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
TV channel: NFL Network
Live streams: Vidgo, fuboTV, NFL+

Both the Seahawks and Cowboys tend not to pay much attention to the preseason. This is evident in their less than impressive records over the last few games. The Seahawks have lost four of their last five, while the Cowboys have lost six of seven.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has yet to see his first on-field action in the preseason but that should change here. Even if it is just a few snaps, the team will likely want their star to shake off some rust.

On the other side of the ball, Drew Lock will likely make his return after missing last week due to COVID. Both he and Geno Smith are still competing for the starting role, so this game might be incredibly important for both of them.

New England Patriots vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
TV channel: Local
Live streams: fuboTV, NFL+

The Raiders are the only team in the preseason standings with three victories thanks to their win in the Hall of Fame Game. They will look to finish the preseason with a perfect 4-0 record as they take on the Patriots. While it is unlikely Mac Jones will see a ton of playing time, rookie Bailey Zappe has looked quite good in his time under center.

In Zappe’s first preseason game, he threw for 205 yards and a touchdown. Last week, he once again eclipsed the 100-yard mark with 173 passing yards and an interception. The Raiders have had surprise QB play of their own from Jarrett Stidham, who went 7 of 10 for 80 yards last week.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. New Orleans Saints

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
TV channel: Local
Live streams: fuboTV, NFL+

Like another team located in Los Angeles, the Chargers do not pay much attention to preseason. They have lost each of their last four preseason games. However, their starters rarely play for long in any of the matchups.

As for the Saints, the story is somewhat similar. They have lost four of their last five and make little effort to play their starters. The shining star in the preseason for them so far has been rookie WR Chris Olave, who had an impressive TD haul in his last showing.

When does the NFL regular season begin?

The 2022 NFL season starts on Thursday, Sept. 8, as the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams host the Buffalo Bills in SoFi Stadium.

The first Sunday of the NFL season concludes with the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a repeat of the 2021 NFL season opener. What will this Cowboys’ offense look like without Amari Cooper? Will the Buccaneers struggle after several offensive line injuries plagued their team in training camp?

There are a number of other interesting games on the Week 1 NFL schedule, like the Bengals hosting their division rival Pittsburgh Steelers and the Las Vegas Raiders traveling to face the Los Angeles Chargers. The week comes to an end on Monday night when the Denver Broncos face the Seahawks in Seattle.
