Saturday night football, folks, is officially back on the menu. With the NCAA regular season wrapped up, the NFL now slides into prime Saturday real estate with two divisional clashes. One carries playoff and history implications in the NFC East. The other awakens one of football’s oldest rivalries under the lights. Two games. Same network. Plenty on the line. Here’s the tea.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders: Philly Chasing History in the NFC East
Game Info
Date: Saturday, December 20, 2025
Kickoff: 5:00 p.m. ET
Location: Northwest Stadium, Landover, Md.
TV: FOX
The Philadelphia Eagles head to Landover knowing precisely what’s at stake. Beat Washington, and they lock up the NFC East while snapping a 20-year divisional drought. No team has won the NFC East in back-to-back seasons since the Philadelphia Eagles did it from 2001 to 2004. History is sitting right there.
The Eagles enter riding momentum after ending a mid-season slide, and this matchup gives them a clean shot to punch their playoff ticket. Per FOX’s game preview, kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET at Northwest Stadium.
Washington’s season, though, has unraveled. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels remains sidelined with a dislocated elbow that flared up again on Dec. 7 in Minnesota. So, former Eagle Marcus Mariota gets the start. Washington snapped an eight-game losing streak last week against the Giants, but the numbers remain ugly.
The team owns a 6-9 record against the spread (avg. margin of defeat at 14.1 points). Two of their last three home losses came by 22 or more. That’s the backdrop for a team just trying to survive the final weeks of a forgettable campaign.
Philly hasn’t forgotten last year’s trip to Washington. If y’all remember, that game ended their franchise-tying 10-game win streak after Jalen Hurts exited with a concussion and Kenny Pickett took over. The Eagles got the final word later, beating Washington in the NFC Championship en route to Super Bowl LIX. Different stakes this time. Same urgency.
Bears vs. Packers: Rivalry Game With the NFC North at Stake
Game Info
Date: Saturday, December 20, 2025
Kickoff: 8:20 p.m. ET
Location: Soldier Field, Chicago
TV: FOX / ESPN
Saturday night closes with a classic. Bears. Packers. Soldier Field. Everything loud.
Chicago hosts Green Bay at 8:20 p.m. ET in a rematch loaded with revenge angles. The Bears are 10-4, winners of six of their last seven, and pushing for their first playoff trip since 2020. FOX and ESPN reports confirm this one will air nationally in primetime.
Chicago is coming off its most complete performance of the season. A 31-3 dismantling of Cleveland. Caleb Williams carved up the league’s top pass defense. The Bears forced turnovers. The defense allowed a season-low three points.
Green Bay enters wounded. The Packers dropped a tough one to Denver, where Bo Nix threw four touchdowns, and Jordan Love was intercepted twice. Worse, defensive star Micah Parsons tore his ACL and is done for the season. Christian Watson also landed on the injury list. Green Bay is now 6-8 ATS.
History still favors the Packers, though Chicago’s lost 12 of its last 13 against Green Bay. But the betting trends lean toward the Bears. The Chicago Bears have a 9-5 ATS record, the third-best in the NFL.
This isn’t just about pride. It’s about control. Win here, and the Bears create absolute separation in the NFC North. Lose, and the door swings back open.
