‘They Were Acting Like His Leg Fell Off’ — NFL Fans React to Update on Ashton Jeanty’s Injury As Raiders Breathe ‘Sigh of Relief’

Ashton Jeanty's season is not over and NFL fans were relieved to hear the positive update after worrying reports earlier in the day.

The sky is no longer falling in Las Vegas. Raiders fans can exhale after worrying that Ashton Jeanty may have been done for the season. Instead, he’ll only miss a short time with an ankle injury.

The NFL fans took to social media to react after a very encouraging update for Jeanty and the Raiders.

NFL Fans React to Ashton Jeanty’s Diagnosis

Jeanty is not going to miss the entire season, but only a few weeks.

After being helped off the field during practice and several hours of worry, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Jeanty had only a sprained ankle and the organization is “breathing a sigh of relief.”

It is unclear how many weeks Jeanty will be out, but it isn’t considered a long-term absence, and it is great news compared to the other possibilities.

The pandemonium caused by the injury being revealed initially drew the attention of many fans, who feared the worst for the star RB. But after suspecting a potential torn ACL, torn Achilles, or another long-term injury, a sprained ankle came as a big surprise.

“Wasn’t this an Achilles tear 4 hours ago?” said one fan.

“Omg all that for a sprained ankle???” added another fan.

It’s preseason, and with no clear video of the injury, fans naturally assumed the worst. With other players suffering season-ending injuries in the preseason, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for it to happen. But luckily, it didn’t happen, and fans can joke about the dramatic few hours.

“Twitter made it sound like his leg was getting amputated,” said one fan.

Another fan chimed in, “They were acting like his leg fell off.”

Jeanty, the Raiders, and their fans are big winners tonight, while those who had fantasy drafts in the hours between the two injury reports may have some big losers.

Jeanty is no longer someone to avoid in fantasy drafts, and Mike Washington Jr. is not worth reaching for anymore. But Raiders fans are thrilled to see that their season is back on track and not already doomed.

“WE ARE SO BACK,” said one fan.

The Raiders are entering a new era and have already dodged a major bullet ahead of the beginning of the regular season. The offense will have Jeanty back at some point.

Combined with Brock Bowers, who ranked eighth on PFN’s TE Impact Rankings last season, and the eventual insertion of Fernando Mendoza, the Raiders should be worth watching in the regular season.
