The ability of a quarterback to throw a football is a completely different form than other sports, and Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love learned that the hard way. He threw out the first pitch of the Boston Red Sox vs. Milwaukee Brewers game at American Family Field on Memorial Day, and things did not work out too well for the quarterback.
The ceremonial first pitch thrown by athletes is always expected to look great, but that is not necessarily the case. We have seen people throw some rough ones from players such as John Wall, Michael Jordan, and Nolan Ryan, but it appears that Love can add his name to the infamous list.

Throwing to former NL MVP Christian Yelich, Love decided to throw from the mound. Instead of firing in a strike, Love lobbed the throw a few feet above the strike zone and laughed it off.
People took to social media to react to the first pitch and clowned Love for his throw.
“This is pretty brutal from a QB,” one person commented on the video.

“He can throw a football a country mile, but can’t get a decent looking strike across home plate,” another Twitter user posted on the video.
Love has not played baseball for years, as he stopped playing it in middle school. His primary focus turned to football, and it paid off well. The pro quarterback now helms one of the top offenses in the NFL.
Love had a strong season last year for Green Bay. He completed 268 of 425 (63.1%) of his passes for 3,389 yards with 25 passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions, as well as 25 rushing attempts for 83 yards (3.3 yards per carry) with one rushing touchdown. He has shown the ability to be a top-10 quarterback consistently and has the potential to continue climbing.
The Packers need to figure out how to add more offensive talent, specifically at wide receiver. They addressed that by selecting Texas Longhorns wide receiver Matthew Golden in the first round of the NFL Draft. This Green Bay team has a lot of young talent, but they need to be able to progress and get to the next level if they want to be able to get past Wild Card Weekend this upcoming season.
Love will be at the center of their playoff push once again in 2025 as the team battles top-tier units like the Minnesota Vikings.
