2026 Mock Draft Report Card

Scores follow the player, not the slot

Most accuracy scoring asks “who did this analyst put at pick 12, and who actually went 12th?” That mostly measures trade luck. Across our 2026 set, only 48.9% of mocked picks even had the right team on the clock, because draft-day trades move the order. Penalising an analyst for a trade nobody predicted is not a measure of skill.

So every number here is keyed to the player. We ask where the analyst said a player would go and where he actually went. Trades cannot distort that.

What the columns mean

• Score — every pick is graded on both halves of the call: the team, and the slot. The four outcomes are worth different amounts, in this order:
  • 100 — right player, right team, exact slot. The full trifecta.
  • 65–70 — right player to the right team, wrong slot. Nailed the destination, missed the timing.
  • 60 — right player at the exact slot, wrong team. Nailed the timing, and lost the team to a trade.
  • 0–48— right player drafted, wrong team and wrong slot, scaled by how close the slot was. Zero at a full round's distance (32 picks), and zero for a player who went undrafted.
  The two half-right tiers sit close together on purpose, with the destination edging it — predicting where a player lands is the harder and more useful call, but calling the exact slot and losing only to a trade is nearly as good.A mock's Score is the average of those points across all 24+ of its first-round picks, so 100 is only reachable by a mock that got every single pick exactly right. Nobody has. The best 2026 mock scored 57.5.
• Adj — the same score minus the median of every mock published the same week. An April mock has far more information than a November one; this is the column that says whether an analyst beat the people writing alongside them.
• Exact — how many of their picks were full trifectas: right player, right team, exact slot. Out of 24+ graded picks, the best 2026 mock managed 8.
• Top 10— how many of those exact calls landed in picks 1–10. Nailing the top of the board is a different skill from finding value at 28, and it is the part anyone remembers. The best 2026 mock got 5 of the first ten exactly right.

Why there are two boards

First-round and seven-round mocks cannot share a leaderboard. Scored on one scale, one-round mocks median 38.6 and seven-round mocks 13.3 — a gap that is depth, not skill. The First Round board scores picks 1–32, which 380 mocks qualify for. The Day 2–3 board scores picks 33 and later for the 61 mocks that go that deep, with a tolerance that widens as the draft does.

Sources and coverage

Results come from PFN's own 2026 draft tracking, all 257 picks. 93.2% of the 20,611 mocked picks we scored resolved to a drafted player; the rest named players who went undrafted and scored zero. A mock needs at least 24 first-round picks to be scored at all.

Scores last generated August 29, 2026. Only completed drafts can be scored, so the 2026 class is the most recent — the 2027 board arrives after that draft. Browse the 2027 mock drafts.
