‘Still Got Something In The Tank’ — NFL Analyst Calls For Packers To Sign 5-Time Pro Bowler For Super Bowl Run

What should the Packers do to improve on their 9-7-1 record from 2025? Find out about the seasoned veteran who could help them.

The Green Bay Packers went home early in the 2025 playoffs, falling at the hands of the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round after an underwhelming 9-7-1 regular season. The Packers were expected to dominate the NFC North with their loaded roster, but head coach Matt LaFleur’s efforts ultimately fell apart. With a new season ahead, some believe the front office should target pass-rushing depth.

Packers Urged To Pair Joey Bosa With Micah Parsons

The Packers’ defense couldn’t pierce the NFL’s top 10 in 2025, despite having traded for Micah Parsons before the start of the season.

However, injuries nagged the unit, resulting in a 74.4 PFSN Defense Impact score and an 11th-place ranking in the NFL. As such, calls are growing for the front office to add more firepower on defense.

Mina Kimes appeared on “NFL Live,” where she made a case for the Packers to go after five-time Pro Bowler Joey Bosa to shore up the defense.

“Joey Bosa, I think, is an interesting name for teams that need pass rushers, and one of those teams is the Green Bay Packers, especially with Micah Parsons’s status early in the season up in the air,” she said. “This is a very thin pass-rushing group. A very thin defensive line — period.”

Micah Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL and is a candidate to start the 2026 NFL season on the PUP list, meaning he would miss at least the first four games. As such, the defense will be left wanting to start the campaign, creating demand for a top-end pass rusher who could at least give them a handful of good games.

Injuries have been haunting Bosa for the last several years, but Green Bay doesn’t need a full season from the veteran. They just need some good games from him, as Parsons’ return will make things easier for everyone.

“While I’m not sure if Joey Bosa can give you an entire season, even having him in the beginning would be helpful,” Kimes added. “Last year with Buffalo, when he did play, he actually ranked 15th league-wide in pressure rate, so he still got something in the tank, and the Packers desperately need anything in the tank.”

Bosa turned a three-year streak filled with injuries around in one season, as he started 15 games for the first time since 2021. If he could maintain the same shape this year, he would have plenty to offer the Packers.

Whether the front office pulls the trigger on the move remains to be seen.
