‘Got a Chance To Be an Absolute Game Changer’ — NFL Analyst Claims Bears Star ‘Could Be an Absolute Steal’ in Fantasy Football

Analyst Jacob Infante listed Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland as one of the players to keep an eye on in next season's fantasy football.

Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland had a promising rookie season in the NFL after being selected No. 10 overall in the 2025 draft. Loveland became an important cog in the Bears’ offense as the season progressed and finished his rookie season as one of the league’s most productive tight ends.

Analyst Picks Bears TE to Be a Fantasy Football Star Next Season

During Thursday’s segment of Pro Football Network’s (PFN) “The Hot List” show, analyst Jacob Infante listed Loveland as one of the players to keep an eye on in next season’s fantasy football.

“In his final four games in the 2025 season, if you include the playoffs, he averaged 20 points per game in fantasy formats and PPR (points per reception),” Infante said. “From Week 9 onwards, he averaged 14 points per game in PPR formatting.”

“He still finished as the No. 12 tight end in PPR last season. And he did that with honestly very little role in the offense the first eight games, or first eight weeks, rather. He really built a rapport with Caleb Williams as the season went on.”

After scoring 2 touchdowns in a Week 9 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals, Loveland became just the second Bears rookie tight end since Mike Ditka in 1961 with 100-plus receiving yards and multiple touchdowns in a game. He also earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, becoming just the third rookie in franchise history to win a weekly award.

Loveland tallied 137 yards in the team’s Wild Card round win against the Green Bay Packers, becoming the first rookie to register 8 receptions and 100-plus receiving yards in a postseason game. His 193 yards in two playoff games were the most by a rookie tight end in the postseason.

Infante further detailed Loveland’s growing influence on the Bears’ offense and how he might explode next season.

“He plays in an offense that Ben Johnson had in Detroit where they heavily target Sam LaPorta in the passing game,” Infante added. “And you started to see that with Loveland in the second half of last season. He really came into his own, that comfort in the offense really started to shine. With DJ Moore gone, the Bears are gonna have a lot more targets that are opening up.

“I anticipate that a decent amount of those are gonna go to Colston Loveland. I think he’s really got a chance to be an absolute game-changer at tight end, at a position, where honestly, there aren’t too many of those game-changers. I think he could be an absolute steal.”

Loveland recorded 713 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns on 58 receptions for the Bears in 16 games last season, earning a PFN Tight End Impact score of 81.0 (No. 3 in the NFL).

He was ranked behind only George Kittle (82.4) and Trey McBride (92.4), and based on the confidence that Johnson has in the Bears’ offense, there’s a possibility that Loveland might finish the season as the best tight end in football.
