Chatter is heating up as we approach 2026 NFL Draft week, and the blockbuster trade between the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals had some interesting implications on the first-round draft order. One of the biggest assets a team can have is two first-round picks in the draft, and this year, six teams will get to pick twice in the first round.
Six Teams With Two First-Round Picks in the 2026 NFL Draft
The Giants traded star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Bengals in exchange for the 10th pick in the draft. The blockbuster trade makes the Giants one of six teams that’ll be on the clock twice in the first round this Thursday.
New York Giants: Picks 5 and 10
Big Blue’s 4-13 record from last season initially landed it the No. 5 pick in the upcoming draft. Given how the season was seen as a transitional phase for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and the young offense, expectations for the campaign were low to begin with.
The franchise, nonetheless, wants to hit the ground running in 2026, aiming to stock up the roster for a possible playoff push. Acquiring the No. 10 pick in an aggressive trade with Cincinnati marks one of the front office’s biggest moves this offseason.
New York Jets: Picks 2 and 16
The Jets earned the second overall pick this year for their disastrous first campaign under Aaron Glenn (58.7 PFSN Offense Impact). A growing disconnect in the locker room showed on the scoreboard, as the team finished with a 3-14 record.
However, Glenn and company are looking for a strong Year 2, and general manager Darren Mougey is backing them. The team acquired the Indianapolis Colts’ 2026 and 2027 first-round picks in a trade that sent cornerback Sauce Gardner to Indy.
Dallas Cowboys: Picks 12 and 20
Despite their electric offense in 2025, the Dallas Cowboys finished 7-9-1, earning the 12th pick in this Thursday’s draft. Owner Jerry Jones will also have the No. 20 to play with, having traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks (2026 & 2027).
Cleveland Browns: Picks 6 and 24
The Cleveland Browns, as they’ve done for much of their existence, will once again pick in the top 10 of the draft, this time at No. 6. To get the new era under Todd Monken off on the right foot, they’ll have to spend it and the No. 24 pick wisely. Their second first-round pick came by way of an exchange of draft capital with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Kansas City Chiefs: Picks 9 and 29
After an unusual 6-11 season, the Kansas City Chiefs got a top-10 draft pick. They’ve been aggressive this offseason to reload and have another run at it in 2026. As part of their offseason conquest, they also acquired the No. 29 pick from the L.A. Rams.

Miami Dolphins: Picks 11 and 30
With Hall of Famers Dan Marino and Troy Aikman in the front office, the Miami Dolphins are kickstarting an entirely new era under general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. Rigged with draft picks No. 11 and No. 30, the latter of which they got from the Denver Broncos, it’ll be interesting to see what they put on the field in 2026.
