NFL preseason Week 1 features an exciting matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the Baltimore Ravens. The Saints will be coming into the year looking to replace years of stability at the quarterback position while the Ravens try and build around a young leader. Here is how to watch the game, TV channel, live streams, start time, and NFL odds.
New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens | Preseason Week 1
All eyes will be on the Saints as they come into the preseason with a QB competition for the first time in nearly 20 seasons. Drew Brees has decided to retire after a Hall-of-Fame career, and now the team must decide between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill as his rightful heir. They also have rookie QB Ian Book, who will likely see some time in this game.
The Ravens have fewer questions at the QB position but a multitude at other positions. They recently suffered an important injury as rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman went down in practice and might miss significant time. Behind Lamar Jackson, we can expect to see Trace McSorley and Tyler Huntley battle to back him up.

Trying to find an edge in a preseason game is not easy. Without a complete understanding of who will be playing and for how long, it is a bit like flipping a coin.
The Saints vs. Ravens will showcase two teams that won double-digit games last year. However, both have significant roster changes heading into the season. In addition to questions at QB, the Saints will also need to figure out what a life without Michael Thomas potentially looks like. He will miss substantial time with an injury, but there are now reports that Thomas wants to be traded.
The Saints aren’t the only ones with questions. The Ravens have a revamped offensive line with Alejandro Villanueva coming over from Pittsburgh to replace Orlando Brown. The left guard spot is also an open competition at this point.
Winston and Hill are the reasons that I give the edge to the Saints in this one. Combined, they have significantly more experience than McSorley and Huntley. I also think we see very limited snaps from Jackson, considering their offensive line’s status.
For those reasons, I think the value is on the Saints ML at +125.
Saints vs. Ravens series history
The Saints vs. Ravens is not a series that we have seen many times in the history of the NFL. They have only played each other on seven occasions. New Orleans won two of those games, while Baltimore has left victorious five times.
