‘So Corny,’ ‘Revenge Season’ — NBA World Clashes As Jaylen Brown Declares He ‘Wants Blood’ in Year 1 With LeBron James’ 76ers

Jaylen Brown's 'I want blood' mentality sparks divided reactions as NBA fans debate over his remarks ahead of new season with the 76ers

Jaylen‍‌‍‍‌ Brown is looking to settle into his new chapter with the Philadelphia 76ers. A rather unexpected move sent him from the Boston Celtics to the 76ers in the offseason.

The 2024 Finals MVP will now start alongside LeBron James, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey.

And amid the anticipation around the star-studded roster, Brown’s ambitious remarks during a Twitch stream have split opinion over social media.

NBA Fans Split Over Jaylen Brown’s ‘I Want Blood’ Mentality

Brown offered a glimpse of his mentality when discussing his approach to the upcoming season, choosing some particularly intense words to describe it.

“My mentality is (to) kill,” Brown said during a recent stream. “I want blood this year. I feel like that’s the mentality.”

NBA‍‌‍‍‌ fans quickly turned their attention to Brown’s rather straightforward comment. While some Sixers fans were pleased with the 29-year-old’s attitude, others mocked the former Celtics star’s comments.

The positive reactions to Brown’s assertion were especially enthusiastic, as one user wrote: “Revenge season yesssir.”

While another said, “Chills he’s doing whatever it takes to win.”

Another supporter was equally sold on Brown, predicting that he would become a beloved figure in Philadelphia. “Philly is going to love this guy. He will be remembered as a Sixer by the end of his career.”

However, not everyone agreed with Brown’s enthusiasm, as some questioned and mocked the dramatic nature of his public comments.

One critic mocked the forward by saying, “Bro always thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room.”

Another dismissed the intimidation altogether, writing, “Lmfao ain’t no one scared.”

There was also skepticism about how Brown would fit into the 76ers’ revamped roster.

“You better get used to standing in the corner,” one fan wrote, questioning Brown’s offensive influence in a loaded lineup.

One user focused less on the basketball implications and more on Brown’s delivery. “How is he getting MORE performative?????”

While a Knicks supporter bluntly declared, “God, he’s so [expletive] corny,” followed by a string of crying emojis.

No‍‌‍‍‌ matter if one sees Brown’s expressions as just a motivational speech or a theatrical performance, they have surely generated an early discussion about his time in Philadelphia.

Coming off an MVP-caliber season in the absence of Jayson Tatum, whether Brown’s bold claim will translate to team success with the Sixers will be a storyline the league will closely follow.
