Earlier this week, Paul was sent home by the LA Clippers.

Via ESPN’s Marc J. Spears: “Chris Paul, a future Hall of Famer I expected to be the first Clipper to get his jersey retired one day, getting sent home at this stage is one of the most astonishing things I’ve seen covering this league.”

Following his departure, Paul made a post to Instagram that had over 25,000 likes in one hour.

Paul captioned his post: “#KeepStackingDays”

The future Hall of Famer had averages of 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 42.7% from the field and 37.7% from three-point range.

Paul was the fourth pick in the 2005 NBA Draft out of Wake Forest.

The 12-time All-Star has also spent time with the New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors over 21 seasons.

Via ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne (on December 3): “Stunning development with the Clippers sending franchise legend Chris Paul home tonight. Obviously he’s been in and out of Tyronn Lue’s rotation this year. But sending any player home, let alone a player of Paul’s stature in the league and with the franchise, is quite a move.”

Paul spent the prime of his career with the Clippers from 2011-17.

In that span, he made five All-Star Games (but the team failed to reach the Western Conference finals).
