Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown finally spoke on his current health status ahead of the team’s Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup against the New York Knicks. After finishing the season with the second-best record in the East, the Celtics faced off against the Orlando Magic in the first round of the playoffs.
Although the defending champions cruised past their younger and inexperienced opponents, the Celtics have been dealing with injuries to numerous players on their roster. Brown is no exception, as the reported bone bruise on his knee forced him to play under a minute restriction.
After eliminating the Magic and moving on to the next round, Brown was interviewed and shared a relatively positive update regarding his lingering injury.

Jaylen Brown Is Confident About Making a Full Recovery for Celtics vs. Knicks
Defeating the Magic in five games has given the Celtics a few days to rest and prepare for their next series against the Knicks. In round one, Brown played through his injury for every game. He even recorded 36 points and 10 rebounds while playing 42 minutes in Game 2, indicating his condition has improved.
The Celtics star certainly felt the same way. In a recent interview, he spoke on the outcome of the Celtics vs. Magic series and his health.
“I felt like it went well,” Brown said. “For me personally and for our group. For me just trying to trend back into 100% and just physically holding my ground etc. Still making plays for our team with guys being out. Jrue, JT missed a game. Being able to step in and fill that role. I’m decent but you know moving forward whole different ball game different teams, different challenges so our focus is fixed on that…”
Jaylen Brown with a positive injury update, says he thinks he’s trending toward 100%:
“I think I’m starting to turn the curve. Structurally, everything is fine. I’ve had some other stuff going on, but I think I’m trending in the right direction.”

Brown is the defending Finals MVP and is no doubt one of the best players in the world. While the Celtics will still be the favorite in this series, Brown’s health and production are crucial for Boston’s quest to repeat.
After all, the team has a good chance to win another NBA championship this season and might just be able to do so with a healthy roster. They even defeated the Magic while three of their main starters were dealing with injuries. However, there are only so many injuries and setbacks that even the best team can deal with before facing the consequences.
The Celtics appear in good condition to face the Knicks, but fans wonder just how healthy Brown will be in that series, and possible beyond.
