The NBA teams play 82 regular games in a grueling, long season. Sometimes, it can be tough on your body, as Jaylen Brown certainly thinks so. The Boston Celtics star, however, loved that they closed out their first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic and looks forward to a rest in the coming days.
With the team winning the series 4-1, they would have a week’s rest depending on their future opposition team in the second round, the New York Knicks or the Detroit Pistons. Those teams battled it out in a win-or-go-home situation for the Pistons. But Cade Cunningham and Co. won the game to give some breathing space for the Celtics.
Thus, Brown detailed the importance of rest for the Celtics.
Jaylen Brown Discusses the Crucial Rest Period Before Playoffs Round 2
Brown scored 23 points in the Celtics’ 120-89 victory over the Magic. Delighted to close the series, Brown spoke about the rest, “Oh, it’s great. I am not sure when’s the earliest we will play next week. Whatever it is, I am gonna take advantage of it and be ready to go out for whoever’s next.”

With the Pistons clawing back, Game 6 heads to Detroit on Thursday. If the Pistons win that, Game 7 will close out in New York on another date. The delay of the winner will probably give the Celtics a week’s rest and allow them to recharge their batteries.
Chasing their second NBA title in a row, the Celtics performed well against the Magic. Although they trailed at halftime, 49-47, Brown and Co. restricted the team to 40 points in the second half.
Even in terms of scoring, Brown conjured up eight points in the first half but came all guns blazing in the second half to score 15 points. But one must commend his fitness, though. He rarely misses games for the Celtics.
Brown’s Conditioning Separates Him From the Rest
In the nine successful years of his NBA career, Brown played 603 games for the Celtics, clocking in 30.6 minutes. In the last four seasons, he’s played 63+ games in the regular season and provided the spark the Celtics need in games.
Apart from playing basketball, he trains hard to get in shape for the rigors of the season. He loves a Muay Thai sparring session where he practices kicks and drills in an ultra-intense workout. The player also does classic muscle-building exercises, in which an isometric Nordic curl stands out.
It requires a person to hold their entire body parallel to the floor using the strength of their hamstrings for eight seconds.
Finally, those workouts inside the pool with 100-pound weights helped him to develop his agility, strength, and vertical for the games.
These workouts prepare him for the games as Brown could enjoy a few days off, raise his legs on an ottoman, and tune in to watch the Knicks vs. Pistons matchup.
