Amar’e Stoudemire is set to enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame during the Enshrinement Ceremony in Springfield, Massachusetts, tonight.

Stoudemire has four children and was married to Alexis Welch for nearly a decade. The two met as teenagers at a party hosted by rapper Nelly in 2002, around the time Stoudemire entered the NBA as a rookie.
They would begin to date soon after. This was the beginning of a 10-year-long relationship before they ultimately decided to tie the knot.
They took advantage of the 12-12-2012 date and got married on the rooftop deck of their Manhattan home. This was when Stoudemire was with the New York Knicks.
The nuptials were a fairly secretive affair, but Vibe.com reported that it was attended by a modest 12 guests.
Over the course of their relationship, Alexis and Amar’e had four children: daughters Aré Stoudemire and Assata Stoudemire, and sons Amare Stoudemire Jr. and Alijah Carsares Stoudemire.
Stoudemire did end up filing for divorce in October 2018, but the case was dismissed in July 2019. This was due to his failure to submit the required documents necessary to facilitate the divorce. Eventually, the two divorced in 2021 after Welch filed for separation.

Stoudemire reportedly got married again in 2025 after expressing his desire to meet someone who shared his commitment to Torah values.
Details about the wedding ceremony and his partner’s identity are scarce, but many sources report that the wedding was attended by close friends and family.
The former Knicks and Suns star converted to Judaism after retiring from the NBA. He also became part of the ownership group of the Israeli basketball team Hapoel Jerusalem and played for the club in 2016. He later spent a year with Maccabi Tel Aviv before retiring from basketball.
The six-time NBA All-Star and 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year was also briefly involved with Ciara in 2011. They were photographed at the Met Gala, and when asked about it, she said, “Yes, we are a couple.” Stoudemire was also linked to Serena Williams and Amber Rose before tying the knot with Welch.
