The 2026 NFL Draft wrapped up this weekend, closing out three days that reshaped rosters and set the stage for the league’s next wave of talent. As teams transition from draft boards to rookie minicamps, one of the earliest ways to evaluate each class comes through Relative Athletic Score (RAS), the testing metric created by the brilliant Kent Lee Platte.
Most Athletic Draft Classes Based on RAS
Here are the teams that had the most athletic draft classes of this year based on RAS:
#1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
According to Platte’s data, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished with the most athletic draft class in the league. Tampa Bay’s draft reflects a clear organizational emphasis on explosiveness and movement skills across multiple position groups, ranking first among all teams with a 9.68 average RAS across the four players who recorded scores.
Three Buccaneers selections did not test enough to qualify for RAS, including first-round defensive end Rueben Bain Jr., second-round linebacker Josiah Trotter, and fifth-round offensive lineman Billy Schrauth.

The four who did record scores delivered some of the strongest athletic profiles in the entire class. Wide receiver Ted Hurst posted a 9.9 RAS, defensive tackle DeMonte Capehart recorded a 9.96, cornerback Keionte Scott finished with a 9.71, and tight end Bauer Sharp had a 9.16.
#2. Chicago Bears
RAS data shows the Chicago Bears finished with the second-most athletic draft class in the league. Chicago ranked No. 2 overall with an average RAS of 9.47 across seven players who recorded scores, further reinforcing the organization’s commitment to high-end physical testing results.

The Bears class featured several elite testers, including defensive tackle Jordan Van den Berg (9.99 RAS), tight end Sam Roush (9.94), safety Dillon Thieneman (9.72), and offensive lineman Logan Jones (9.63). Chicago targeted athletic traits that translate quickly to the field, particularly on defense and along the offensive line.
#3. Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns landed third in draft class athleticism rankings, posting a 9.39 average RAS across seven qualifying players. Quarterback Taylen Green headlined the group with a 9.99 RAS, placing him among the most athletic dual-threat passers to enter the league in recent years.

While RAS is not a guarantee of future NFL success, history shows that many of the league’s top performers come from the upper tiers of athletic testing. Tampa Bay, Chicago, and Cleveland each leaned into that philosophy in 2026, assembling rookie classes that rank among the most physically gifted in the league as teams turn their attention toward development and competition in the months ahead.
