The Philadelphia Eagles visit the LA Chargers for a Week 14 Monday Night Football clash, and there will be an alternate telecast called “Monsters Funday Football.” There have been several alternative telecasts this season, with the “Monsters” version being the latest addition to spice up the primetime action.
But what exactly is the theme?

The “Monsters Funday Football” telecast theme is based on the famous Pixar animation, “Monsters Inc.” (2001). It will feature character animations and locations from the film, adding more color to the game.
Animated versions of the players will face off live, set in the movie’s “Monstropolis.” John Goodman, voicing James P. Sullivan, will join the Chargers on the field, while Billy Crystal, voicing Mike Wazowski, will team up with the Eagles. Lastly, Bob Peterson, who voiced Roz in the movie, will be doing the sideline reporting.
How To Watch ‘Monsters Funday Football’ on MNF
The animated action will feature on ESPN2, Disney+, in the ESPN App, and in the NFL streaming hub. The broadcast will air at 8 p.m. ET on Monday night.
This Is Not the First Animated Broadcast of the NFL
In 2023, the first-ever “Funday” telecast debuted during the game between the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. The “Toy Story Funday Football” game took place in Andy’s room, featuring popular characters from the film franchise.
In 2024, the Cincinnati Bengals’ game against the Dallas Cowboys was a showdown between characters from “The Simpsons.”
MNF Preview: Eagles-Chargers Game Has a Lot Riding on It
The Chargers host the Eagles in a game that has different stakes for each team. LA finds itself in a division that seems to be undergoing a changing of the guard, as the Kansas City Chiefs are struggling tremendously, while the Denver Broncos are in a strong position to take control of the AFC West.

The Broncos lead the division at 11-2, with the Chargers following at 8-4. The Chiefs, meanwhile, trail at 6-7 after a loss to the Houston Texans, and the Las Vegas Raiders are at the bottom (2-11).
The Chargers seem unlikely to clinch the AFC West this year, so they’ll be aiming to string together enough wins to sneak into the playoffs behind Denver.
The Eagles, on the other hand, can secure the NFC East before the regular-season finale with a few more wins (if the Cowboys win out). They lead Dallas (6-6-1) with an 8-4 record.
