Micah Parsons Congratulates Will Anderson On Historic Contract with Houston Texans

According to Adam Schefter, the defensive end signed a new three-year, $150 million deal. This makes Anderson the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. The financial package also includes $134 million in guarantees, securing the bulk of the amount regardless of injuries or future performance.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons took to social media to give a heartfelt shout-out to Anderson, who shattered records by surpassing other star defensive players, including Parsons himself and Myles Garrett of the Browns.

“Omg, congratulations, brother !!” Parsons wrote on X.

In addition to the record-breaking contract value, Anderson’s agreement with the Texans, who, according to PFSN’s PFSN Defense Impact Metric, had the second-best defense in the league last season, includes a no-trade clause, which prevents the franchise from trading the player to another team without the player’s consent.

Anderson’s jaw-dropping ascent was undeniable last season. In 2025, he racked up 12 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, and 3 forced fumbles.

In addition, Anderson is part of one of the best defensive duos in the NFL today alongside Danielle Hunter, playing a key role in DeMeco Ryans’ defensive strategy. Precisely for this reason, he received a new contract that could redefine what it means to be a “superstar” in the modern NFL, proving that defensive impact is now valued almost on par with that of a quarterback.

Before joining the NFL, Anderson had one of the most accomplished careers in college football history under Nick Saban, becoming only the second player in history to win the Nagurski Trophy twice.

In 2021, his breakout season, he recorded 17.5 sacks and an impressive 34.5 tackles for loss, numbers that placed him fifth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy. The Texans selected the DE with the third overall pick in the 2023 draft, and he went on to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award with 7 sacks.

Anderson is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named to the First-Team All-Pro in 2025. Last year, he finished second in the voting for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, trailing only Myles Garrett.

This contract extension gives Houston fans even more peace of mind, shortly after the team exercised the fifth-year option on C.J. Stroud’s rookie contract. With this move, the young player is now officially under contract with the organization through the end of the 2027 season.
