MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Rest easy, Miami Dolphins fans. De’Von Achane is on the active roster for Thursday night’s big game against the Buffalo Bills.
Achane was not one of the six inactive Dolphins, meaning he’s good to go in prime time.
How much will Achane play? That remains to be seen.
Miami Dolphins’ Plan for De’Von Achane
Achane is just four days removed from an ankle injury he suffered late in the team’s Week 1 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was healthy enough to practice Wednesday on a limited basis. The Dolphins didn’t practice Monday or Tuesday, but Achane would have been held out of those sessions if they had.

Achane isn’t just the Dolphins’ RB1 Thursday with Raheem Mostert (chest) out.
He’s also their WR3 with Odell Beckham still on the physically unable to perform list.

Achane, against the Jaguars, led the Dolphins with seven catches (for 76 yards) in 37 snaps. Mostert, who gutted out that chest injury, had 31 snaps, while RB3 Jeff Wilson was on the field for just 11.
But those 11 were impactful. Wilson led the Dolphins with 26 rushing yards on a mere five carries, providing fresh legs late as the Jaguars’ defense wilted in the game’s latter stages.
“Jeff is the consummate pro,” Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith said. “He’s an energy guy, and when his number is called, you know what he’s going to bring – physicality and intensity when he carries the ball. So we have complete confidence in all of our backs and really all of our guys, and the way we were able to rally at the end to accomplish what we needed to get done was really a testament to the guys.
“It’s been awesome. We’re really excited to continue upon that for this week.”
Assuming Achane is healthy enough to handle his normal responsibilities, expect him to get a similar workload that he got Sunday. Wilson and rookie Jaylen Wright — who will make his NFL debut — will probably have a more equal split of snaps than Mostert and Wilson did last week.
Wright, a fourth-round pick in April’s draft, was a surprise healthy scratch last week — considering how good he was in both practice and the preseason (91 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries).
“He’s done a great job, we’re really excited about him,” Smith said of Wright. “All of our players, we’re really excited about these guys and how we’re going to play, especially this week versus a division rival in Buffalo.”
