The Miami Dolphins could be without Jaylen Waddle, Robbie Chosen, and Robert Hunt Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Then again, they could have all three. Or they could also have one of them. Or maybe two.
Things are that uncertain for three key offensive players four days out of the biggest game of the Dolphins’ season (to date).
Meanwhile, there’s significantly more clarity on running back Raheem Mostert, who missed part of the Cowboys game with a shin injury.
Miami Dolphins Practice Report
Let’s start with the most significant question mark:
Waddle has a high ankle sprain, which usually keeps NFL players out for multiple weeks. But on Wednesday, McDaniel wouldn’t even rule the Dolphins’ WR2 out for this week.
Here was his full answer on Waddle:
“I would say in my career, he’s one of, if not the toughest, fast guy that I’ve ever been around. It just so happens that all our fast guys are really tough, which is cool as football players. But him being that way, it’s tough to rule him out for this week.
“It’s a high ankle sprain; it’s not overly severe, but high ankles are tough when you make a living on cutting. So, you know, we’ll see how he responds.
“I’m not gonna take this opportunity away from him just because of, you know, X, Y, or Z. … I wouldn’t put anything past him. However, it is a high ankle sprain. So we’ll see how that goes.”
If Waddle cannot go, the Dolphins would benefit by having Robbie Chosen available. That’s uncertain, too, however, as he’s in the concussion protocol.
But McDaniel on Wednesday seemed to be holding out some hope that Chosen can play.

“We’re still in the process of the protocol with Chosen,” McDaniel said. “But he’s responded well, and so he’s checked the boxes so far that are available to him.”
McDaniel said that Chosen is “not at that stage” that he’s able to practice yet, “but he’ll be around and you know, might be able to do some walkthrough participation and things of that nature. He’s progressing.”
There seemed to be little doubt that Mostert can go on Sunday. He’s gotten Wednesdays off for some time now and will again this week, but McDaniel said the following of the NFL’s leader in rushing touchdowns:
“Good luck telling that guy [he’s not playing]. Like that’s not a tree I try to climb. We’ll just manage him accordingly. … I’m not sure if you guys know, but he’s really hard to tackle on Sundays. So that’s a good thing.”
One last bit of news: Hunt, the Dolphins’ right guard who missed five of the last seven games, seems to have a real chance to play in the Dolphins’ regular-season finale against the Bills — and perhaps even this week.
“I can feel his confidence,” McDaniel said, adding Hunt is on the verge of being day-to-day.
UPDATED (3:45 p.m.): Waddle, Mostert, and Hunt were among the Dolphins players not spotted by reporters participating in practice Wednesday. The others? De’Von Achane (presumably toe) and Terron Armstead, who has dealt with multiple injuries throughout the season.
Better news for two Dolphins defenders who were unable to play in Week 15: Safety Jevon Holland (knees) and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (hamstring) both practiced.
