Michael Jordan has no shortage of accomplishments on a basketball court. He’s undoubtedly one of the greatest basketball players of all time and also one of the most popular athletes in history.
As a result, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear about any of his incredible feats. However, fellow NBA great Vince Carter recently revealed a story about Jordan that wasn’t known, and it goes to show just how great he was.
Vince Carter Reveals How Michael Jordan Embarrassed North Carolina Starters
Jordan starred for the North Carolina Tar Heels from 1981 to 1984. The legendary Jordan then went on to have one of the best careers in NBA history with the Chicago Bulls.
Carter, meanwhile, also played for North Carolina from 1995 to 1998. Jordan had already won several NBA titles and countless awards by that point, and Carter revealed that Jordan came back to Chapel Hill while Carter was on the team.
During this return visit, Jordan wanted to play a pickup game, and he decided to have all the walk-ons on his team and the starters on the other team. According to Carter, it didn’t go well for the Tar Heel starters.
“(Jordan) picked all of the walk-ons, and he didn’t come off the court the rest of the day,” Carter explained. “All of a sudden, you saw walk-on players doing stuff like, ‘Bruh, where’d you get this game from?’ It’s just who Jordan is, his aura.”

It’s not surprising that Jordan dominated even with less talented teammates. After all, Jordan is considered the GOAT by many basketball fans.
During his time at North Carolina, Jordan averaged 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while winning the 1981–82 title game and earning All-American honors in the 1983–84 season.
After starring for the Tar Heels, Jordan was drafted in the first round of the 1984 NBA Draft. Jordan went on to win six championships with the Chicago Bulls, 10 scoring titles, six Finals MVPs, and was a 14-time All-Star.
Since retiring from basketball, Jordan has been an owner of the Charlotte Hornets and recently won the Daytona 500 as the owner of 23XI Racing. Because of the Jordan brand and his countless business ventures, the legend is reported to have a net worth of around $4.3 billion.
