College Basketball World Reacts to Purdue’s Buzzer-Beater To Defeat Texas, Advance to Elite Eight: ‘WHAT A FINISH’

Purdue's last-second victory over Texas, along with Trey Kaufman-Renn's excellent effort, got a lot of attention from the college basketball world.

With less than 12 seconds left in a Sweet 16 matchup in the West Region between No. 2-seeded Purdue and No. 11-seeded Texas, it took a tip-in by the Boilermakers’ Trey Kaufman-Renn to give Purdue a 79-77 win on Thursday night at SAP Center at San Jose in San Jose, Calif.

When Kaufman-Renn tipped in a rebound, it left just 0.7 seconds left on the clock. A late heave from three-quarters wasn’t close for Texas, setting off a celebration along the Boilermakers’ sidelines.
