Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody suffered a devastating knee injury on Monday night, and his former college program has already reached out with an offer of support during his lengthy recovery ahead.
John Calipari Invites Moses Moody to Rehab at Arkansas
Arkansas head coach John Calipari took to social media on Tuesday to extend an invitation to the injured Warriors guard. Calipari posted a heartfelt message offering Moody the chance to return to Fayetteville and use the Razorbacks’ facilities during his rehabilitation.
“Heard about Moses Moody injury last night. [Moses Moody] you are always welcome to come back and rehab with us and use the facility. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery!” Calipari wrote.

The gesture carries significant weight given Moody’s history with the Arkansas program. The 23-year-old guard spent one season in Fayetteville during the 2020-21 campaign, where he emerged as one of the top freshmen in the country.
During that standout season, Moody averaged 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while leading the Razorbacks to an Elite Eight appearance. His impressive play earned him the No. 14 overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft, where the Warriors grabbed him.
Moody’s injury occurred late in overtime of the Warriors’ 137-131 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Monday night. The guard had just returned to action after missing 10 games with a wrist injury and was playing one of his best games of the season.
After stealing the ball from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg with just over a minute remaining in overtime, Moody appeared to have an easy breakaway dunk ahead of him. However, as he planted his left foot to elevate, his knee buckled in a gruesome noncontact injury that left him crumpled on the floor beneath the basket.
An MRI conducted on Tuesday in the Bay Area confirmed the worst fears. Team doctors diagnosed Moody with a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, ending his season and requiring an extended rehabilitation period.
Recovery from a patellar tendon rupture typically takes anywhere from six to 12 months, meaning Moody could miss the start of next season as well. The injury requires surgery and an intensive rehabilitation process to regain full strength and mobility.
Arkansas Razorbacks Prepare for Sweet 16 Matchup
The fourth-seeded Razorbacks are set to face top-seeded Arizona on Thursday in San Jose, Calif. Freshman sensation Darius Acuff Jr. has led the charge with 60 combined points in Arkansas’ first two tournament games, including a 36-point performance against High Point.
Calipari’s willingness to welcome Moody back to Arkansas demonstrates the coach’s commitment to building relationships with the program’s former players. It represents the kind of family atmosphere that has helped Calipari recruit at an elite level throughout his career.
For Moody, the road ahead will be long and challenging. But knowing he has support from his college program and access to top-tier facilities could provide a meaningful boost during the difficult months of recovery that lie ahead.
