Florida vs Texas A&M Prediction and Preview

There is no shortage of games today, but could this end up being the best of the bunch?

The reigning champs have won 11 of 13 after an uneven 5-4 start (three of those losses came against elite opponents by six or fewer points) and have five averaging in double figures.

Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon get the love as returning impact players, and while that’s fair, how could you not be impressed with junior Rueben Chinyelu?

He’s averaging 12.1 points and 11.3 rebounds this season and has either a dozen boards or multiple blocks in seven straight. He’s looked comfortable in his expanded role, and if he can sustain that level of high-floor play, a repeat isn’t fully out of the question for the Gators.

If you’re combing through our NCAAB Power Rankings and trying to find future value, Texas A&M is one of the teams I like most above the rest of the industry.

They tried to beat Alabama at their own game on Wednesday, and fell 100-97. They didn’t get the desired result, but I was generally impressed with their showing. Neither team reached a 10-point lead at any point while A&M got to the stripe 28 times on a road game with just six turnovers.

That’s a strong profile and not one that you see produced very often. Rashaun Agee does it all for this team, exactly what they had in mind when they brought him over from USC. The jump shot is shaky at best (10-of-47 from 3), but with 11 double-digit rebound efforts and 18 dimes handed out over his past four games, he’s got plenty of ways to impact the game.

Don’t call it an upset if the home team gets the W.

Prediction: Texas A&M 79, Florida 73
