Perry thanked everyone who supported his family throughout their time in Spartanburg. “A huge thank you to the Wofford fans and community, you have been encouraging and gracious,” he noted, specifically mentioning his wife, Brittany, and children, Trey and Ashton.
The coach showed his professional character by looking ahead rather than dwelling on the circumstances. “Today is about moving forward,” he said. Perry expressed some excitement for his next coaching opportunity while maintaining the integrity he’s known for throughout his career.
Perry’s firing came after six players were involved in dining card violations worth only $84 to $108 per player, which Wofford self-reported to the NCAA. The situation arose when players living off-campus continued using campus meal plans.

One message showed the fans’ feelings: “Thank you so much, Coach Perry. You are a great coach and a great man and it’s a real shame they let you go.”
Perry’s graceful handling of his departure and the overwhelming fan support show the lasting impact he made beyond wins and losses at Wofford.
