The Arizona Wildcats will face the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
The No. 1-seeded Wildcats have breezed past LIU and Utah State, while the Razorbacks defeated Hawaii and High Point to secure their place in the Sweet 16.
Arizona vs. Arkansas Injury Updates for the Sweet 16
Both teams had some injury concerns ahead of this Sweet 16 clash. The Wildcats are hoping to get Brayden Burries back to 100% after an ankle injury scare earlier this month.
The freshman guard played well during the first two rounds, scoring 18 and 16 points, respectively. He should be good to go for Thursday’s Sweet 16 clash against Arkansas.
The Razorbacks have a big injury concern of their own, as Nick Pringle missed the first week of March Madness due to a leg injury. There was initially hope that Pringle could return to the court against High Point, but he sat out the game.
Now, Pringle is off the injury report and ready to make his return against Arizona. The big question is how many minutes he’ll play and whether he’ll be 100%.
MARCH MADNESS: Fill In Your Bracket Now!
Arkansas will have to make do without wing Karter Knox on Thursday. He has been dealing with a meniscus injury and hasn’t played in over a month.
The Razorbacks will be relying on SEC Player of the Year Darius Acuff Jr. to set the tone after his 36-point showing against High Point on Saturday. The freshman guard is averaging 23.3 points per game this season and will be looking to continue his electric scoring run.
Arizona has one of the strongest teams at the tournament, with star power and incredible depth. Burries is the team’s points leader, averaging 16.0 points per game.
Jaden Bradley also appears to be in inspired form on both ends of the court and has been setting the tone with 13.1 points, 4.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. The Wildcats’ senior was also recently crowned the Big 12 Basketball Player of the Year.
This Sweet 16 matchup will take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, with tip-off scheduled for 9:45 p.m. ET on Thursday. Fans can watch the game live on CBS.
