This offseason has been challenging for Maxx Crosby, as the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to trade him to the Baltimore Ravens, but the deal was nixed after he failed his physical due to concerns about his surgically repaired knee. Crosby is now back with the Raiders for the 2026 season and has also earned recognition among the top 20 players in PFN’s Top 100 rankings entering next season.
Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Ranked Just Behind Myles Garrett Among NFL EDGE Rushers
Crosby will be playing with a massive chip on his shoulder in 2026, and PFN also valued his potential as he landed at No. 11 on PFN’s Top 100 players list. He was also named the NFL’s second-best EDGE defender, trailing only the Los Angeles Rams’ Myles Garrett.
“Maxx Crosby is back with the Raiders for what will be his eighth season with the team,” the PFN report says. “He’s been playing at an elite level for much of that time, having made the Pro Bowl in five of his seven seasons. His 89.3 PFN EDGE Impact Score ranked fifth in the league last year, and his stellar 99.0 run-defense score ranked first.”
Crosby’s durability and relentless effort have made him nearly impossible to keep off the field. Even while dealing with injuries in his 2024 season, he still recorded 28 solo tackles, 17 assists, and 7.5 sacks in 12 games.

Crosby followed that up with another Pro Bowl-caliber season in 2025, recording 45 solo tackles, 28 assists, 10 sacks, and 1 interception in 15 games. Through seven NFL seasons, Crosby has accumulated 69.5 career sacks, becoming just the third Raider since 1982 to eclipse the 60-sack mark, joining Greg Townsend (107.5) and Howie Long (84.0).
An NFC executive told ESPN that Crosby is “a pain” to deal with, “versus the run, the pass, whatever.” It proves his ability to disrupt offenses in every situation, and the PFN report also highlighted the Raiders’ star’s dominant form.

“In the last four years, Crosby has been a top-five edge rusher in our analytics model three times,” the PFN report added. “He’s arguably the most relentless and highest-motivated player in the NFL, regardless of position; his energy and effort are contagious. He’s such a smart and crafty edge rusher that it’s very difficult to ever shut him out of a play entirely.”
Crosby also reportedly remains one of only three NFL players responsible for at least 30% of their team’s sacks since the start of the 2022 season. Since entering the league in 2019, his 35 games with at least five quarterback pressures are the most by any player during that span.
PFN analyst Kyle Soppe also pointed out that while the Raiders have ranked among the league’s bottom 10 defenses in scoring and several other categories during that stretch, opposing offenses have consistently centered their blocking schemes around Crosby.
As the new season is on the horizon, Crosby’s relentless play from start to finish is what Las Vegas will expect.
