It’s been a rough few years for the Chicago Bears, but things are looking up in 2024, thanks to Caleb Williams and a strong defense. However, they probably wouldn’t be here without head coach Matt Eberflus.

Following his lengthy career as an NFL position coach, Eberflus became Chicago’s head coach in 2022. Thanks to a long coaching career, he’s accumulated quite a bit of money.

    What is Eberflus’ net worth?

How Much Does Matt Eberflus Make?

While his net worth isn’t widely reported anywhere, it is believed to be around $5 million. Eberflus’ salary is similar and is rumored to be about $4.5 million per year.

While he hasn’t received a contract extension yet, Eberflus could be in line for one if the Bears have a great season this year. Eberflus’ current deal, plus what he made as a position coach and coordinator, combines to make up a small fortune.

Past Roles Eberflus Held While Earning Net Worth

Eberflus started his coaching career in 1992 as a student assistant coach and became a graduate assistant a year later. He stayed in Toledo until 2000, working his way up from recruiting coordinator and outside linebackers coach to defensive backs coach.

After Toledo, Eberflus took one last stop in the college ranks with Missouri, serving as the team’s defensive coordinator and associate head coach from 2001-08.

His first stop in the NFL came from 2009-10 with the Cleveland Browns when Eberflus was hired as linebackers coach. He took that same role with the Dallas Cowboys in 2011.

Eberflus stayed as Dallas’ linebackers coach until 2017 before being hired as the Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator.

From 2018-21 in Indianapolis, Eberflus showed he was one of the best defensive minds in the game. The Bears hired him as head coach in 2022 to right the ship and improve the team’s defense and overall success.

However, since taking over, Eberflus has put together an 11-24 record as head coach. 2024 hopes to be different, with the Bears looking very different than before.
