Jonathan Gannon Provides a Major Marvin Harrison Jr. Injury Update

Harrison returned to the field in the Week 13 game against the Buccaneers after missing two games due to emergency appendix surgery. But he couldn’t stand throughout the play as he suffered a heel injury that forced him to sit out the second half.

During the game, Harrison played some snaps despite the injury, which suggested it wasn’t a severe one. However, prioritizing his well-being, he didn’t return to the field.

For the fans wondering how soon the second-year receiver would return to the field, the Cardinals’ head coach, Gannon, has provided a crucial update on his injury.

Gannon, while talking with Arizona Sports, emphasized how tricky foot injuries are and need to be dealt with care, especially in Harrison’s case.

“He is going to see a doc later on,” Gannon said, “Max Melton didn’t go this last week because of a heel, a kind of similar injury. Those are tricky because, like Marv (Marvin), he kept going back in the game, and then you watch him run, and he’s running great. But when he walks or jogs, it doesn’t look great. You know what I mean? It’s a tough injury because it’s on his foot. Anytime he puts pressure on it, it’s tough, so we’ll just take it day by day with him.”

Gannon also shares that Harrison is eager to return to the field, and he’ll do all in his power for a quick recovery. It’s frustrating for the receiver that he returned to the field after two weeks and sustained another injury upon his return. Talking about it, Gannon shares how upset Harrison was and that his return would again depend on how ready he seems.

“I know he’ll do everything he can to play, I know that. He was down with appendicitis, and I’m like, ‘Buddy, you don’t control that.’ He was pissed that he missed two games. But he’ll get himself ready to go, and if he can go, he’ll go,” Gannon added.

Harrison has been an essential part of the Cardinals team this season and has earned a score of 74.6 on PFSN’s WR Impact. Harrison’s return could surely not change the Cardinals’ dismal position on the table with a 3-9 record; however, it could make the team stronger, treating fans to some victories before wrapping up their campaign. But his return would depend on how well he performs on the practice field.
