Despite having their backup quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, start in place of an injured Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. snagged a couple of impressive catches. However, on his second catch, he fell to the turf hard and was forced to exit the game.
Here’s everything we know about the Cardinals’ second-year wide receiver’s status.
What Happened to Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.?
Brissett hit Harrison on a deep shot as the first half ended. While he made the catch, he was tackled by Indianapolis Colts cornerback Johnathan Edwards. Harrison’s head hit the turf very hard.
Harrison made a nice contested catch over the middle before landing hard on his head. He was off to a solid start despite having to play with his backup quarterback. He had brought in two catches for 32 yards.
As fantasy football injury analyst Jeff Mueller said on X, “Marvin Harrison Jr., I would be very surprised if he doesn’t have a concussion. Head slams right into the turf. Getting checked now.”

He would go to the blue tent to be evaluated and started making his way to the locker room shortly after. Harrison was then ruled out for the rest of the game..
With Harrison out, the Cardinals are perilously thin on playmakers. Michael Wilson is one of the weakest WR2s in the league, and it doesn’t get much worse than Zay Jones at WR3. Already down their top two running backs, this offense has only Trey McBride. Simply put, it will become a situation to avoid for fantasy managers.
Harrison Jr. has had quite the up-and-down season in 2025. A nice start in Week 1 was overshadowed by a case of the drops in Weeks 2 and 3. He finally bounced back in Week 4 with a respectable six-catch, 66-yard performance, where he found his way back to the end zone for the first time since Week 1. He had his season high in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, hauling in four passes for 98 yards.
This is Harrison’s second sustained concussion in his short NFL career. He suffered one in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers last season. He didn’t miss a game as a result, and fans will be hoping for the same result after this scary fall.
