The 2018 NFL Draft remains one of the most defining moments in recent Baltimore Ravens history. The franchise not only found its cornerstone quarterback in Lamar Jackson, but also landed Mark Andrews, who has since become one of the most productive tight ends of the era.
Though his production has dipped slightly in recent seasons, the two-time Pro Bowler continues to etch his name into Ravens history, adding a major milestone to his name during the Week 11 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Mark Andrews Surpasses Ravens Legend Derrick Mason
Andrews made history on his very first target of the night, hauling in an 11-yard reception that pushed him past Derrick Mason’s franchise record of 5,777 career receiving yards. Mason, who played for Baltimore from 2005–10, finished his Ravens career with 471 receptions, 5,777 yards, and 29 touchdowns.
Andrews is now within striking distance of yet another record. He only needs five more receptions to surpass Mason for the Ravens’ all-time catches record, a mark he’s on pace to break in today’s game.

Andrews already holds the Ravens franchise record in receiving touchdowns with 56 and as well as single-season records for both receptions (107) and receiving yards (1,361). With two more records coming his way, Andrews’ résumé continues to grow more Hall of Fame–worthy with each passing year.
Through nine games in 2025, Andrews has totaled 29 receptions for 244 yards and five touchdowns. He currently ranks 35th in PFSN’s TE Impact Metric with a score of 73.1 and a C grade.
The 30-year-old entered the season surrounded by trade buzz after a pivotal drop in last year’s playoff loss to Buffalo, but Baltimore ultimately kept him past the deadline. He is now set to finish the remainder of his four-year, $56 million deal with the franchise.
Andrews Future Uncertain in Baltimore
Despite his accomplishments, Andrews’ long-term future with the Ravens remains cloudy. Although he has been one of the league’s most reliable tight ends since being drafted in the third round, his efficiency has dipped, just as backup Isaiah Likely continues to ascend as a younger, cheaper, and more dynamic option.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently reported that league insiders believe Baltimore is likely to franchise tag Likely in 2026. “Several team executives anticipate Likely doing very well in free agency because he can serve as a matchup problem who can separate from coverage,” Fowler wrote.
He added, “Part of the equation: The tight end franchise tag in 2026 is very reasonable ($15.8 million). Some people I’ve talked to inside the league would not be surprised if Baltimore tags him, especially with its top three tight ends hitting free agency.”
While Andrews acknowledges the business side of football, he has remained composed and expressed a clear desire to stay in Baltimore. Whether the Ravens ultimately move forward with their longtime star or transition to a new era at tight end remains to be seen, but for now, Andrews continues his pursuit of his first Super Bowl title in purple and black.
