The New York Giants exceeded expectations on the road against the Detroit Lions in Week 12, forcing overtime but ultimately losing.
After this loss, Giants star receiver Malik Nabers took to X to share his thoughts on the game, but he quickly deleted the post after accusing the organization of something quite serious.
Malik Nabers Unleashes on Team Following Brutal Loss
Now 2-10, it’s been a tough go for the Giants this season. Quarterback Jaxson Dart has missed some time due to a concussion, running back Cam Skattebo is out for the season with an ankle injury, and wide receiver Malik Nabers is also out for the season with a torn ACL.
While Nabers may be out, he’s still quite passionate about the team, taking to X after the Giants’ 34-27 overtime loss to the Lions.
“Sometimes I think they b makin us lose on purpose! Cause it’s no way, bro you throw the ball instead of runnin it to make em burn 2 timeouts?? then you dnt kick the field goal.??? Then they have to go down and score!!! Football common sense!!!! Am I missing something?” Nabers wrote, but then deleted, on X, according to Bleacher Report.

In addition to the 2-10 record through 12 games, the Giants have a 70.9 Offense Impact score at PFSN, which is the eighth-worst figure in the NFL.
Additionally, they’re 22nd in points (22.0), 10th in rushing yards (124.5), and 13th in passing yards per game (224.0).
Their last win came on Oct. 9 at home, when the Dart-led Giants beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 34-17.
With this loss, the Giants have now dropped six straight games. This was a tough loss, as Giants quarterback Jameis Winston, logging a second straight start in relief of Dart, threw for 366 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
The Giants’ defense also got a rare interception of Lions quarterback Jared Goff — only the fifth of the season for the star quarterback — which came after the ball went off the hands of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
If the season were to end today, the Giants would have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft behind the Tennessee Titans.
In a season in which they’ve lost their star receiver and an excellent rookie running back, — while also firing their head coach who handpicked their rookie quarterback — the No. 2 overall pick wouldn’t be such a bad consolation prize.
