Most plays are decided in the trenches before anything else really has a chance to happen. If the line holds, everything looks easier. If it doesn’t, the rest of the play usually falls to bits. And right now, Detroit Lions fans seem very clear on where they want things to start.
Detroit Lions Fans Zero In on Offensive Line Strategy for the 2026 NFL Draft
The PFSN mock draft simulator came up with fan numbers that cannot be called subtle. Offensive tackle is being picked 73.4% of the time. EDGE sits at 10.6% and guard at 5.6%. That’s a strong lean in one direction.
The player data lines up with it, too. Spencer Fano shows up most often at 16.8%, followed by Kadyn Proctor at 15% and Monroe Freeling at 14.5%.
Then, it’s Blake Miller at 10.9% and Caleb Lomu at 10.3%. A bit further down, Olaivavega Ioane is at 5.4%, Keldric Faulk at 4.7%, Max Iheanachor at 3.9%, and Akheem Mesidor at 3%.
Even when fans look at other positions, the focus keeps circling back to the same place. Fano feels like the cleanest option in this group, as evidenced by his scouting profile on PFSN, which grades him at 88.6 while ranking him as the OT1.
He is 6-foot-5 and 304 pounds and moves while creating space in the run game. He finishes blocks, stays balanced, and rarely loses control of reps. Pass protection still has room to improve, as his anchor can get tested, but the growth from 2024 to 2025 is apparent.
In the meantime, Proctor brings a different kind of scouting profile with a PFSN grade of 84.97 and position rank of OT2.
At 6-foot-6 and 369 pounds, his strength is apparent. Once he locks in with his hands, it is hard for defenders to disengage. He handles power well and can stall rushes early.
Speed is where things get difficult, and there is still the puzzle about whether he sticks at tackle long-term or moves inside. Either way, he adds size and strength to the line.
Freeling is more of a projection with his 88.35 grade and OT3 position rank.
He is close to 6-foot-7 with an 84-inch wingspan, and he moves well for his physique. The technique is not fully developed yet with his hand placement, but the physical tools are nevertheless apparent.
Miller and Lomu offer different kinds of steadiness.
Miller, with an 87.16 grade and OT5 status, has had 54 starts, and it shows. He is comfortable, moves well, and has become more reliable and experienced in pass protection.
Lomu, with an 88.65 grade and OT2 position rank, is more about control. He is not as overpowering, but his hands are steady, and he holds up well in protection. There is still room to grow in the run game, but it is moving in the right direction.
Ioane, with an 87.69 grade and OG1 position rank, is the main interior option in the group. At 330 pounds, he plays with good leverage and awareness. He is steady, and that is apparent in his plays.

Faulk and Mesidor bring some defensive interest.
Faulk, with an 87.34 PFSN grade and an EDGE ranking at 4, stands out more against the run right now, while Mesidor, with the same grade and a ranking at 3, offers versatility when healthy.
Iheanachor, with an 85.11 grade and an OT4 rank, is also in the group, though not at the same level as the other tackles.
The pattern does not really shift, as Lions fans keep coming back to the line. Protect Jared Goff and keep the run game moving.
