Quarterback Baker Mayfield had a down season last year, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to an 8-9 record and missing the playoffs. An episode of the “Quarterback” show on Netflix detailed the extent of Mayfield’s injuries last season, including a sprained MCL and PCL, a biceps contusion, and a left shoulder injury.
Eagles Legend Blasts Baker Mayfield for Trash Talk
In an episode of the “Quarterback” show, Mayfield’s altercation with Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell during their Week 4 clash last season was highlighted. Mitchell had to be held back by Bucs linemen, and Mayfield later admitted that he stole the tactic from Houston Texans icon Arian Foster.
Mitchell, who earned first-team All-Pro honors and his first Pro Bowl nod last season, helped the Eagles win the game 31-25. He defended 5 passes and notched 5 tackles to nullify Mayfield’s trash talk.
During Wednesday’s segment of the “Speakeasy” podcast, Philadelphia Eagles legend LeSean McCoy slammed Mayfield for trash-talking Mitchell.
“And y’all rather support and give love to dudes like Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold, but disrespect guys like Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson,” McCoy said. “So now these dudes are not on the same level, they hear y’all talking about them and they think and feel like they can come up and say something to Quinyon Mitchell?
“Like, who are you? One dude is an All-Pro, the other guy has never been that and he gets a lot of alternate Pro Bowl.”

McCoy further blasted fans and analysts for hyping Mayfield despite his inconsistent NFL career and for his intimidation tactics against opponents.
“Baker Mayfield has been above average for a very long time,” McCoy said. “Every once in a while, he has a really good year to make people like y’all talk about him. He’s a little (expletive) dude that somehow beat the odds as a walk-on and he gets picked first overall.
“I knew (expletive) was crazy when I seen him trying to act like Brett Favre… Talking about, ‘Who are you?’ The problem is, when dudes is regular or above average, we wanna hype them up.”
