The Buffalo Bills enter 2026 with a different look on offense, and much of that change centers on the arrival of D.J. Moore. The veteran receiver gives Josh Allen a proven option on the outside after Buffalo spent years searching for a consistent No. 1 target.
With training camp now offering early signs of their connection, one former Bills All-Pro believes Moore could be exactly what the offense needed.

Speaking on Good Morning Football, Steve Tasker pointed to Moore’s experience and production as major reasons for optimism in Buffalo. Tasker said Moore had been “phased out” in Chicago as younger receivers emerged, but the Bills had a clear need for his skill set after Stefon Diggs’ departure.
Tasker also pushed back on the idea that Allen needed a true No. 1 receiver, noting the quarterback has succeeded without one. “Josh will tell you off the side, he’ll tell you, listen, I don’t need one,” Tasker said. “And he hasn’t. The guy scores touchdowns like nobody in the history of the game, right?”
Still, he believes adding Moore gives Allen another proven weapon and creates possibilities that were not previously available.
Tasker added, “So training camp kicks off, and D.J. Moore has fulfilled all the expectations. Dude has showed up. He has done exactly what Bills fans wanted him to do in practices, in scrimmages, in the games.”
The biggest evidence has clearly come from Moore’s work since joining Buffalo, which has given earlier disappointed Bills fans a reason to raise their expectations. “So there’s a growing sense of, wow, this might be what we needed in DJ,” Tasker said.

This optimism has followed Moore into preseason action. He caught three passes for 61 yards against Carolina, including a 32-yard reception from Allen, while reports from camp have praised his work enough for Bills reporter Sal Capaccio to call him the team’s camp MVP.

Allen has already praised Moore earlier in August, saying, “He’s a heck of a football player and we’re lucky to have him.”
With Moore’s arrival, Buffalo can now threaten defenses farther outside, which could create cleaner opportunities for Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, and Keon Coleman. Moore also reunites with offensive coach Joe Brady, who previously worked with him in Carolina.
