It has been an exciting offseason so far for Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign, which saw the team miss the postseason altogether. Baltimore is still built to contend for a Super Bowl, despite letting go of longtime head coach John Harbaugh.
This “win-now” phase became even more cemented when the team landed superstar defensive end Maxx Crosby, leaving former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky to call out the team and Jackson himself.
Dan Orlovsky Calls Out Lamar Jackson After Ravens Add Maxx Crosby
There is no denying that the 2025 season was a complete bust for the Ravens and Lamar Jackson, as they entered the year as Super Bowl contenders, only to miss clinching a playoff spot on a last-second missed field goal. That being said, the fact that the team still has Jackson at the helm, along with the addition of Maxx Crosby, means they will come into the year with a Super Bowl in their sights.
This is something that former QB-turned-analyst Dan Orlovsky mentioned in a recent episode of Get Up, stating, “I love Lamar. There ain’t no more excuses now. This is all in.” It may come as no surprise that this sparked Jackson to clap back at Orlovsky, taking to social media to call him out.

“Dan there has never been excuses for Lamar though,” the Ravens quarterback posted online. Although the response from Jackson was relatively light compared to some other social media exchanges between athletes and analysts, there’s a chance that Orlovsky’s comment struck a nerve with the two-time NFL MVP.

Last season, Jackson was limited to only 13 games as a hamstring injury forced him out of action. Despite the Ravens’ struggling to secure a postseason berth, Jackson was still solid, passing for 21 touchdowns while adding two more on the ground.
The addition of Maxx Crosby will undoubtedly help Jackson on his quest to win his first Super Bowl, as the Pro Bowl defensive end will add more firepower and pass rushing to Baltimore’s squad. Last season, the Ravens finished 18th in PFSN’s Defensive Impact rankings, a placement that should improve with the addition of the 28-year-old defensive juggernaut.
